WTH does that even mean? We need to improve but we are far from the worst as you stated.
Who's worse than us?

Fran really struggles at that position and I will agree with that
Read my post. i gave you three and there are a lot more. Here is a link I found with defensive stats. Not a pretty story but not the worst. http://www.oddsshark.com/ncaab/defensive-statsWho's worse than us?

Ah, so it's Fran's fault that a first team All American JuCo didn't work out? It wasn't that he was terribly overrated.

I think you are in for major disappointment if you think CM is going to be an instant impact type of guy next year. Most people are saying he lacks quickness, but you are saying he has the first step of Harrison Barnes? Hmm.
My eyes are telling me he's a mid-major basketball prospect. My ears are telling me there's a pretty decent chance he doesn't even play BBall at Iowa next year.
Oh well, I hope you're right and the kid turns out to be a stud.
Are those adjusted? Offensive and defensive stats that aren't adjusted don't really mean much
It's not like Dickerson was some big time recruit. JUCO All American doesn't mean much. You obviously didn't follow his recruitment much, some people just offered him to get Atwood who ended up being not that good. Fran is bad at recruiting the PG position but he's got this off season to try to redeem himself. We can all agree he needs to add an impact guard to go along with Garza
Have you seen Mac Sauce play? I have seen both Barnes and Connor play multiple times. Connor does have an explosive first step for his age. Just as explosive as Barnes was at this age. Barnes was a better overall athlete with higher potential ceiling. That doesn't mean that he was better at everything. I also thought Doug McDermott was the better overall player even though Barnes was the better athlete. That is a perfect example of skill closing the gap with elite athletes. You don't have to take my word for it, but a first step isn't all about quickness. Sure it helps, but when coaching a kid to improve his first step, the 3 things that can be coached and improved are; Angle, Power and Purpose. Angle = foot placement. Your first step should be attacking the defenders front foot. Power = exploding into your first step. This power comes from your glutes and is achieved by pushing off from the balls of your feet. Purpose= knowing where you are going and what you are going to do. This allows a ball handler to separate from a defender and keep his space. If you hesitate the defender can and will close the distance. Connor is definitely not as polished as McDermott was or as athletic as Barnes was, but his first step is just as dangerous as either. Secondly I agree that Connor is not going to be an instant impact guy as a Freshman, but that isn't actually what I said or my point. My statement was that I evaluated Connor as being able to penetrate better than what we currently have at PG. Moss is the only player on Iowa roster that has a better first step than Connor. This is including Jok. Last note. Mid Major prospect? Your eyes are lying to you. Connor is a 4 star concensus on all recruiting websites and a fringe top 100 player nationally. Skepticism is natural, but take a step back for a minute and reevaluate Connor without the patented Iowa pessimism. I am confident that you will have a little more respect for Mac Sauce's game and a little more optimism for his future as a hawk. It is possible for Iowa to have nice things lol. Sorry for the rant.
There is no Iowa pessimism. I'm really high on Joe W, and I know the state has produced some very good players.
Everything I've gathered from videos, prospective from people that have gone to his games leads me to my opinion of him. Outside of the top 50 or so, I trust recruiting rankings as far as I can throw em. I just don't see it with CM. He doesn't remind me of any good B1G player I can remember, maybe that's a good thing because he's unique, or maybe that means he's not meant for that level, I've assumed the latter.
Anyways, I'll maintain what I've said for the last several weeks that I don't think CM will end up hooping for the Hawkeyes. Again, I hope I'm wrong on all accounts and he's a stud.
Why would that even matter? You would just find some loophole to cast shade and attempt to discredit the statistical results if they didn't line up with your point of view. Fake assists, fake steals, fake blocks and fake made shots. How can you trust any stat since they all are designed to lie and make it appear as other players are somehow as good as the 5* players that you hold so dear? I have heard that mathematics don't really exist in the sub atomic 1 dimensional world. So I can only assume that is where your perspective lives. It makes sense since your views all seem to be 1 dimensional.
You do realize we already have 2 too many scholarships don't you?
Fran needs to push a couple of guys out and add an impact guard otherwise we're probably not going to be much better next year
Ok. Evaluations and opinions on players are subjective. While I am obviously inclined to relate and put more stock in my own opinion. I won't argue your opinion on Mac Sauce any further. It would be futile as I am sure you are inclined to relate more to your own opinion as well. So CM player quality and potential aside. I am still hung up on your bold prediction. What on God's green earth has led you to believe that CM will not play basketball for Iowa? For his father and with his brother. I am sincerely interested in how or why you think or feel this to be the case. If you could please explain your deductive reasoning.
Our team can be the kind that feeds the post and shoots 3s. There is nothing wrong with an offense like that. Our defense will hopefully improve a little with experience. It as quite a bit better than it was at the beginning of the year already. If we take another big step in the off season and have similar improvement as the year goes on next year, we will be pretty good on defense by the end of next year.
Our defense hasn't really improved at all though, we have by far the worst defensive team in the conference
