may be some down the line hyperbole, but the bottom line was atwood wasn't anything special in his pickup game with the scholarship guys

(nor did I ever claim we didn't want him in the first place; I always said he'd be useful, not a star but a kid who could solidify the frontcourt rotation. he would have been a nice get, but if he didn't want to work for a starting spot....)

I'm certainly not unhappy that Flemming committed, but I do think, in light of recent failures, Flemming's value is being blown out of proportion, such as our friend Jack above saying this non-binding verbal agreement with a high school junior has opposing B1G coaches trembling in fear.

I have to wonder if Andrew was stunned that he would actually be in the majority on the Iowa roster in terms of race....that has to be a shock. When he sees that Iowa will be the only BCS league school to field an all-white starting lineup, he had to think this is the place for him....pretty rare in Div 1.
