All four of us were actually up and down at breakfast by 8:00 and we were on the road home by 9-ish. I went down to eat around 7:30 so we could stagger showers. It's amazing what you can do when no one's drinking, lol.
We were home by 1:00 and even took a drive to Sioux City in the afternoon to get a new phone

They were told from someone (I'm assuming their supervsiors) that fans weren't going to be allowed back in once the game restarted and that when (if) the game continued it would be players/coaches only.
Miscommunication along the lines somewhere.
One thing was funny though, there was a huge fat security guard at the band exit, he started yelling and throwing a fit telling people to leave...
A fan who looked to be mid-thirties came up to him and said something to the effect of, "How do you know this, they haven't made an announcement over the PA?" Fat security guard said< "The game is done, you need to leave."
Fan asked what he was going to do if he didn't leave, fat guard said I'll get the police. Fan said go ahead, fat guy turned around and walked off in disgust because he knew there was no such announcement. lol
They should have pushed his hat down over his eyes and given him a wedge

I didn’t see security really doing anything. People left or stayed freely. I’m sure there were employees wanting to go home. Well they took the job.

This happened when I took our boys to their very first Hawkeye football game. It was against that Tenn Tech or some team like that. It was the game where you saw the river of water going down the Kinnick stairs.
The rule is everybody has to leave the seating in the stadium and seek shelter. What we did along with thousands of others is go on to the concourse area behind/under the seating in the stadium and wait it out. We then could go back in after the all clear was given. I'm sure this was the same as that is what it looked like watching on TV.
So, I suspect they wanted them out of their seats but were allowing them to come back in. To say they couldn't return is stupid. How could they enforce that if someone paid for their tickets.
Folks are upset because of the glaringly offensive offense, period. It's a glaring issue. Elephant in the room. Huge wart on the end of Raquel Welch's nose.
People don't understand why the wart is not removed on such a lovely thing, that's all. Huge potential not grabbed and enjoyed.
Rest of the program is total and utter excellence in the long run. Bashing the program is ridiculous.
