Drew Ott scooter accident!

Sounds like per Morehouse that he is cleared to play on Saturday. I wonder if this was the scooter that he rode on the back roads to Iowa City from his home town in Nebraska?

It wouldn't be a season of Iowa ftball without a moped incident would it? Glad he's not too hurt anyway. Alot of the players live off campus especially the upper classmen. Those things are the cheapest most convenient way for them to get around. Don't see a ban on them happening.... As nice as that'd be.

having lived in and gone to school in iowa city - a 'moped' would be a great way to get around - especially the parking aspect. iowa city is spread out - especially given they are going to be on the west side every day for practice, etc and many classes are on the east side. parking in IC sucked back in the day - i'm sure it hasn't improved.

i think a helmet would be pretty mandatory - heck, most bicyclists wear them. and hey, they wear them in their sport! if nothing else, just strap the football helmet on! ;)

I don't expect a moped ban, but Kirk needs to require a helmet. Five other UI athletic teams require helmets.

I don't know what parking was like in your version of "back in the day", so maybe it has improved some. But it still sucked *** as recently as May 2013.
