Well, crap. This is just flat out stupid.
What the heck does a football coach have to do to get fired in the Big Ten??
Ahh, and the SEC harbors cheaters.Almost. Big Ten harbours abusers.
Maryland is a big UnderArmour school. Could they have a role in all this?Reading the ESPN article it sounds like the board forced Durkin back onto the team. Not sure why they have such a hard-on for him...it doesn't really make sense.
Are you anticipating some type of player holdout? If the reports are true about several players walking out of the meeting, I wouldn't be surprised to see this happen.$10 to the Children’s Hospital says Durkin doesn’t make it through the 2nd week of November as head coach.
Somebody take me up on it so they get paid either way.
That or the media pressure will be too much for MD to take. It won’t take many sponsorship boycotts or social media movements to bring the house down. Are you anticipating some type of player holdout? Coach at Nebraska.Well, crap. This is just flat out stupid.

I was wondering that too. Money talks the loudest. But even still what do they think the outcome will be in 6 months-a year or 2 down the road? He won't be able to recruit. I heard like 3 players walked out of his first meeting with him. I just don't see what the upside is to bringing him back is...But as you mention their could be huge money behind the scenes trying to pull the strings...Maryland is a big UnderArmour school. Could they have a role in all this?
Will we see a max exodus of players transferring out? Nobody knows better than those that were there for all the goings on than them. That'd be hilarious if 15 kids all up and announce their transferring out this morning over it...That or the media pressure will be too much for MD to take. Urban Meyer is a steamy piece of shit, but this is different. Durkin was indirectly (some day directly) responsible for a kid dying and abused players.
He’s not making it out of this one with his job, imo. And rightly so. What I see happening is the university caving under massive pressure, and both the university and Durkin allowing themselves to save face by him “resigning.” He’ll give some fake ass statement at a press conference and ride off into the sunset with a pile of cash.
The thing is they’d never have to actually transfer. The BOR would have no choice but to can him. Will we see a max exodus of players transferring out? Yup if it came to it for sure. I guess we'll see where the players stand on it one way or the other. They don't give a crap about the board or the president or big money boosters or Under Armour. (maybe a couple of them do if they've been paying players) But the unpaid ones would still outnumber any of those they were. The thing is they’d never have to actually transfer. Include Brian Kelly at ND to that book as well.McNair family needs to quadruple the amount they're suing for. Maryland just put themselves in the same book as Pedo St. in my mind. F em!
