Did anyone listen to Iowa State's News Conference today?

Where in the F is this dialogue going Dean and PC? I have the same look on my face...

I'm just really surprised how every hawk fans think instigating doesn't matter at all and every cyclone fan thinks you probably shouldn't instigate because something bad might happen if you do. It's almost like people are choosing a side based on something else.

And to the "she wore skimpy clothes so she deserved it" crowd. There is a huge difference between "she deserved it" and "she probably should have seen that coming". If you have a young daughter you probably shouldn't teach them to do whatever they want and assume everyone around you is a good person. I'll teach mine that she needs to be careful what she chooses to wear and where she chooses to wear it. The guy that rapes her is going to get the same punishment no matter what she wears. But is that going to help her get over the trauma?

If a visiting band came up to me and started playing their fight song and giving off the vibe that they were fucking with me, I wouldn't even consider hitting them. I would probably want to, but it wouldn't even be a realistic option for me. That's because I have restraint. If they did the same thing to 100 people, what are the odds that all 100 people have the same restraint as me? What are the odds if there were 1000 people? Anyone who used physical violence against them should get the same punishment regardless of whether the band was instigating or not. But it's not good judgement to do something stupid in front of a large group of people and bank on the idea that every one of them has the self control to restrain themselves.

To sum up. The people who physically assaulted people should get the same punishment regardless AND the band was stupid for putting themselves in a potential bad situation. If in fact they did which is very debatable.

My dad was an instigator; little fucker that he was, always running his mouth and all his buddies, much larger than he, always cleaned house. I never liked anyone like that. I'm not sure all Hawk fan or Clown fan thinks that way. If you're a big boy, living in the big world, then you better be able to back up all the shit you're spewing.

Sounds like you're the guy who might do the pushing and I'm the guy who would yell some obscenities.

Don't do it !! All you have to do is play fair and keep to yourself. Don't get yourself involved unless you feel very strongly that someone was about to do some damage against someone who may be helpless. What's the phrase PC? "If you can't say anything nice, don't say it at all" Iowa and Iowa State=rivals=bad blood=someone will get butthurt over something someone actually said or supposedly said. It's not worth the time to get your lunch handed to you or you inflict damage on somebody else. Hostile environments always bring out some stupid F, usually on both sides. It will never change.

Once again, why it is that you even consider the option that the Iowa band somehow "instigated" anything? Oh yeah, because that is what Pollturd wants you to think. Didn't see any of these post from you before Pollturd basically said the band instigated everything.

1630 AM in E. Iowa carried it live. It was Pollard, the isu President and I think one or two others. It was entertaining to say the least. They did say that one of the Iowa Football teams buses was vandalized by isu fans, they smashed a window and threw other obejects at the teams bus (before the players/coaches were on it.) Pollard made it sound as if the Iowa band marched into isu fans on purpose (Pollard said the IA band marched into an area that they weren't suppose to be in.) They said one band member tried to get into a bldg which a security guard said no, they said the band member became verbally aggressive. They also admitted that an Iowa band member was carrying a ladder and was shoved from behind by isu fans, that band member fell on the ladder and broke some ribs. Pollard also brought up how isu bands have been targeted while in Iowa City before (playing the victim card.) A reporter then asked Pollard if he ever contacted the U of Iowa in regards to past incidents, which Pollard never said yes or no, but beat around the bush on the subject. He then talked about how great isu fans are and how the team they played last week was gushing as to how great isu fans were towards them and how they were treated just wonderfully. It was kind of hard to listen to because they seem to be in denial about the whole thing. Pollard kept saying they have no real evidence, but admit to a band member getting ribs broken and Iowa's team bus attacked by isu fans.

The guy is begging for series cancellation, if you ask me. Playing Iowa doesn't help their SOS.

Well than he didnt get what he wanted because I don't think it. I just know its possible. I know the dumb ass Stanford band would do it.

PCHawk….
I'm right with you on this.

You've actually stated this position 3 or 4 times....in ways I've never been able to and from here forward I will paraphrase what you've written the next time I have to explain it to someone.

Your last two sentences proves what I already knew. Most people let stupid shit cloud their judgment. If you choose your side based on which team you follow, you're an idiot.
Just telling it like it is Right, wrong, or any other way.

I wish people would be more critical in their thinking in most things.
So in that vein, why should anyone's daughter have to worry about what they wear at all?

The answer, because for the longest time society allowed defenses that supported the accused by shifting blame on the accuser.

One thing I have learned since becoming a father to my daughter is how absolutely sick it makes me feel to think that she will go her entire life having to make concessions because some self-entitled dick with a tiny prick will make her feel less about herself for no other reason than she is female.

So, no, I do not accept any sort of excuse for bad behavior because some one else did something trivial. I do not accept that in this day and age people can still use a 'they were asking for it' excuse.
Grow the F up people, we are not 5 years old.

The reason why someone's daughter should worry about what they wear is because there are bad people in the world. That is the only reason. If you attract attention from bad people, bad things can happen. Again, it doesn't mean she deserves it. It means it could have possibly not happened if she was more aware. And the guy should fry no matter what she was wearing.

There is a degree of "reaction" that is acceptable for the degree of "instigation". Everyone has a different opinion on what that is, but there always is one. For instance, you dont murder someone if someone bumps into you without saying excuse me, but maybe you say in a very prickish tone "EXCUSE ME". You sure as F don't grope someone for instigating a crowd like they allegedly did. You sure as F don't punch someone and break their ribs. Pushing someone is still too much but not as bad as punching someone (unfortunately the person fell and hurt their ribs). But maybe you do cuss them out a bit.

It's simply not debatable to pretend there should never be a reaction to someone's bad behavior. What is debatable is what the reaction should be. My opinion is the guy who yelled obscenities at them is fine, the guy who pushed someone went too far, and the person who groped is a piece of shit.

You should quit.

Pollard's press conference was ridiculous in so many ways, plus he is just a lying POS. It isn't going to fly to say that "someone on the field" instructed the Iowa band to leave a certain gate, when we have correspondence with ISU that shows they gave no clear plan for exiting whatsoever. That is very detailed instruction, and as it shows ISU didn't give any care or detail into how to exit the stadium. Add in the fact they have the ISU facilities director screaming at them to "get the **** off my field", and of course the Iowa band is going to take the most direct route out of the stadium to their busses.

https://dailyiowan.com/2019/09/26/i...ching-band-director-lacked-exit-instructions/

Also Jamie, there are now police reports being filed. Next step for Pollturd and his classless fan base will be to get the victim's names and start dragging them through the mud and victim blaming them.

It's long past time to end this overblown and mean spirited series. I mean really - what Big 10 team have we played for 40 plus years straight? None.
The series should never have resumed in 1977. The level of hatred that Iowa State fans have for Iowa is way off the charts. Iowa does NOT need this game - Iowa State HAS to have it for the purpose of ticket sales.

There will be more "inappropriate behavior" in Ames, You can count on that.

I've been to an Iowa/Iowa State game in Ames. Thank God I arrived early enough to hear the Iowa State student section yell out "F IOWA" over and over. That was classy. My God, can''t we replace this game with a mid tier team from the PAC 12 or something along along those lines?

If I were walking out of Kinnick and the ISU Band was marching in formation to their buses, I would move out of the way, regardless of the outcome of the game. Only hateful, drunk assholes LOOKING FOR TROUBLE would decide to start knocking down band members and throwing shit at them.
Even if you take that out of the equation, there were bus windows smashed and physical assaults. If there is a less threatening group of people in the world than those in a marching band, someone please let me know. Maybe a group of Nuns?

I agree with all of that. Too bad the odds of there being drunken assholes at games is 100%.

I also see that Iowa band members are talking about past incidents now. So now we get to see all the hawk fans that were saying "if past incidents happened in Iowa City, why didnt they report them then" fully believe that those past incidents happened. And we also get to see all the Cyclone fans that were saying "you guys do the same shit in Iowa City" start saying if the past shit happened, they would have reported it then.
