i am not questioning that they are a good team...I don't know diddly about them other than they have McDermott, don't take it the wrong way...if they are talented fine...relax.
 
One of those games, a slap in the face for certain, but simply one of those games, hopefully just one. Exposes the areas we Must work on to have a successful season. Creighton is a Very good team, and soundly defeated the Hawks as they will many other teams. We probably would not have gone undefeated the preconference games, and this is just One of the possible three losses.....

You can't judge a basketball team in one game. I think we played about as bad as we can. We did not do much of anything well. If we have a string of bad games, then we have reason for concern. I want to see progress and I think we will. I don't know if we will win 14 or 20. I'm just looking forward to the next game!
 
I think this game runs deeper than just "days like this happen." Watched the game in person. We got out-hustled; out-rebounded; out-shot ... and about out-everything. I understand this is a rebuilding process. That being said ... this was not a 7-10 point loss. Creighton embarrassed Iowa on the court today and I think that is the head scratcher. They came close to having a 40-point lead ... It looked like a Final 4 team playing a junior college team.
 
Iowa shot 36% to Creighton's 55%. From 3 Iowa 33% to Creighton's 47%. Iowa 27 rebounds to Creighton's 43. That's a recipe for a blow out. I'm guessing the rebound advantage was in large part because we couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.
 
basketball is very different from football in the days like this happen. unc is going to be great but they will have an off day and lose and they are the best team. creighton will be in the ncaa tourney and the good mid majors are nothing to scoff at. iowa shot poorly and compounded it by then forcing bad shots. also creighton shot lights out. it happens. iowa will be better than they were but remember they are still very young and will make mistakes like this.

We had a bad day. Creighton is a good team and shot 60%.

$hit happens. It's a long season.
