Danger! Danger! ISU Hoiberg!

the one thing they don't do very great is play defense... this is why I think iowa can go farther.

Iowa is capable of scoring but they can also stop people. ISU can't stop anyone

That is not the definition of depth. If any team would lose their best player it cant really be "replaced". Kane is almost like Marble and White tied into one player. How would Iowa replace those two if they missed games due to injury.

No I’m correct and I know what depth is. Shouldn’t ride one horse 39 minutes a game and not give backups experience. They’ll have 6 guys that have seen consistent game action for the game Monday.

Maybe we shouldn't mock their team or their fans for supporting their team, since their team beat us, likely will contest for a conference championship and a 4 or higher seed in the NCAA tournament, and is currently ranked higher than we are.

But, whatevs....

I read through the entire thread before posting. Now I'm coming back through...

I have zero problem with Iowa State fans supporting their team. I have zero problem with some people being fans of both teams. I can get somewhat agitated when there is a lot of pro Iowa State or anti Iowa stuff on a Hawkeye forum. This can happen on their forum. I have zero problem with Iowa fans being as negative, bitter, etc. as they want toward Iowa State on a Hawkeye forum.

They are simply finding out the hard way that life ain't so great away from Hilton

Agreed. This is their 4th true road game and their toughest...barely. Oklahoma is 48 on Kenpom and BYU is 53. It's not like they lost to a world beater in this one. Kansas isn't playing lights out but got a road win against this same team earlier this week.

Thanks. That hurts coming from some random nobody on the internet that has proven time and time again they're an idiot.

Go away troll. Just go away. Take the whole can of raid to you just to be sure.

For those saying wrong forum...Iowa State gets discussed constantly on the basketball forum. Is it only okay when Iowa State is winning?

BB teams lose, even the best teams lose. Nothing I saw today makes me think that ISU isn't a top 10 team, they are very good.

I also think Iowa State is very good...but top 10 good or top 20 good. A win today would have moved me closer to top 10 good but still wouldn't have been all the way there since OU isn't a road win over a top tier team. I'm now firmly of the top 20 good opinion...same as Iowa at this point.

Some posters mentioned that ISU was short on bench and an injury to their main PG could see ISU lose more games than expected if no other guards stepping up. Esp when they play Kansas on Monday.

I have voiced this concern multiple times. It is a legitimate concern and will be all season IMO. They also don't have size inside. This will also be an ongoing problem...especially when they struggle from 3.

Iowa would play the other 9 guys and win their fair share of games. Of course comparing the loss of 1 top tier player to the loss of 2 top tier players is ridiculous.

It doesn't. Just a chance for the haters to hate.

Losing to a decent team on the road is not an AH-HA moment. If it is, Haters should get ready for some retribution from losing a game to Mich-ILL-Minn on the road.

None of these teams have beaten Iowa and all but Illinois are rated higher on Kenpom than OU (48)...Michigan (19), Minnesota (40) and Illinois (52). What retribution? If the Iowa State fans want to hate on Iowa now or later on their forum go ahead. If they want to do it here now or later then they are out of bounds IMO. This thread is NOT on an Iowa State board.

I agree. Iowa State has to outscore their opponents and that only works some of the time. You are correct that Iowa can win with either their offense or their defense IMO. Again Iowa State has no inside presence...especially on defense.

Iowa State has to outscore every opponent or they would win 0 games every year. Pretty sure the same could be said about Iowa unless the B10 has some crazy scoring metric I am not familiar with.

I am not butthurt. ISU played like crap and hung in to the end. OU hit an unreal amount of 3's and ISU wanted to turn the ball over like it had aids. OU is a good team and its not like ISU was going undefeated anyway this year. This loss will not hurt us.

I believe what he means Doublewide is ISU is an offensive minded team that puts more emphasis on offense than relying on their defense to score points.

OU is decent, but the kind of team a legit top ten team needs to beat on the road. ISU will lose several more times, they are a top 25 team but not a top ten team.

Time will tell if ISU is a top 25 or top 10 team. I don't see ISU losing more than 1 game at home, and I said a few days ago if ISU goes .500 or better on the road against (KU, Kstate, Baylor, Okie St., Oklahoma, and Texas) that they will contend for a conference championship. So far they are 0-1 in that endevor.
