No link, just based on work experience somewhat related to the subject and observations of the world. Does anyone really think there is an epidemic of women going around making up this kind of charge?
On a national level, the two most headline grabbing rape stories in the past 5 years have been the IMF guy and the Duke lacrosse team. Those were both made up. But I don't think there is an epidemic. There are a ton of cases of "he said, she said" where both admit sexual contact took place and the only issue consent. And those things are an absolute mess to prove for the prosecution. I don't have a link, but I remember hearing a couple years ago that Crook County has all but stopped prosecuting them unless it is something egregious (e.g., passed out or drugged alleged victim) because they are very expensive for the cash strapped County and the conviction rate is very low. Teach your sons not to be a-holes and your daughters to be careful is about all I can say.
