Cherry pick some more bud.
And for the record, the 2004 team would have possibly made the BCS if the format was the same as today.
And you are not cherry picking??????

Honestly, on a scale of 1-10 I would give Ferentz an 8 on the job he has done at Iowa over the course of his entire career. You and all the KF bashers like to focus on a cherry picked sample of data to bash and bash repeatedly.
Fact- The talent in the program was the lowest it had been in about 20 years when KF took over from Hayden.
Fact- It took him 3 years to get bowl the Hawks bowl eligible and in his 4th year Iowa had its first undefeated conference season in about 80 years.
Fact- KF has taken the team to 2 BCS Bowls and won a BCS Bowl, something Hayden never did.
Fact- He has developed more NFL talent than any other coach in Iowa history.
Fact- He has developed a Doak Walker winner, Groza winner, Outland Winner, Davey Obrien winner, AP Player of the Year, Heisman Runner-up, Mackey Award winner and multiple B1G award winners including 2 Big Ten Players of the Year.
Fact- KF has won B1G Coach of the Year 3 times and was National Coach of the Year once.
Fact- Season ticket sales and football revenue are as high as they have ever been.
The list could go on and on.
To be fair Section.
IMO: If Hayden Fry coached in this day and age. He would have been to 3 BCS Bowls (Rose Bowls 81,85 and 90). In 1987 and 1991 they might have attended another, I will say that 1991 would have been a lock for a BCS. Giving Hayden 4 LOCKS and quite possibly a 5th. Furthermore by comparison is that these BCS Bowl appearance would have happened in the first 13 years of Hayden's career at Iowa. Let's also toss in a #1 Ranking..
And you are not cherry picking??????
lulz...The buyout isnt even going to be a factor. If Iowa goes 0-12 in 2013 KF is still the coach in 2014 unless he decides to retire.
And also, KF > Hayden.
How does that Kirk has leaned on Norm the whole time he was here. When the Hawks need offense most of time they dont get it. Thats how you lose to Western Michigan , CMU and Minnesota.
Didnt the offense score over 30 points in the loss to CMU last year?
Didnt Iowa score around 24 or so each loss to the Gophs in TCF?
Surely you cant lay all the blame at the feet of the offense and not give any to the defense.
OHHHHHHH Yes I can. Kirk tightens at the end of every game and most of the 2nd half for that matter. Kirk puts the ball on the ground at the end of every game hoping that the defense scores because the other team loses the game.
Norm not only had defenses that could beat any offense in country he also had to beat Kirk leaving his defense on the field for most of the game because kirk ran the ball into the ground because he was scared. We dont have that defense anymore.
Good defense are usually good because they get off the field and get to rest. Norms defenses had a 1 min break and they had to be back at it.
Both games you refer to the defense was left on the field to win it. When Kirk wouldnt try to win it with his offense.
I can think of plenty of games that the D didnt go enough to win, the Norm era included.
Worst teams in the country?
Central Michigan was a bowl team.
PSU had a winning record 8-4.
NW won a bowl game.
Michigan finished 2nd in the Legends
Nebby won the legends
PU went to a bowl game.
IU pushed OSU to a 55-52 final score.
ISU went to a bowl game.
The worst teams in the country do not go to bowl games.
Exaggerate much?
Why is it that Kirk cant beat the worst teams in the country then? How does that make him even an average coach?
There is no cherry picking the results since Norm went ill and then retired.
Kirk has leaned on Norm the whole time he was here. When the Hawks need offense most of time they dont get it. Thats how you lose to Western Michigan , CMU and Minnesota. Kirk is a OL coach at best. He is not suited to make games calls and or to have any say what so ever on how an offense should run.
For those of you who wonder is kirk losing it. No. He never had it. He had Norm who had amazing defenses and a couple of years where he had unstoppable offensive players. So if kirk can bring back a healthy Norm and get Banks and Greene type players then maybe he can turn the program around. He still wont beat ISU very often but thats really tough isnt it Kirk?
I said before that they played 4 good teams in 2012. The rest were either average or bad. Yes, I consider Isu's 2012 a bad team. And you can't put MAC teams on the same level with a BCS conference team.
He didn't. He was responding to OOTH's statement "Why is it that Kirk cant beat the worst teams in the country?"
Every post isn't directed to you, believe it or not.
I'm gonna post this part again for OOTH below. For those wondering what is going on with ferentz, this tells you the truth about him. Brilliant post, man.

What do you think a HC is supposed to do? They surround themselves with good people, just like any other good leader in any other situation. Whether it be politics, business, the military, or sports. He did a nice job of hiring assistant coaches, which is near the top of the list for a HC. He did a bad job of waiting too long to make some changes, and now we will see if he can do it again. Who hired Norm?
The funny part of it is the idiots that say the assissant coaches are the reason KF win, actually prove the point that Head coach did his job well.
