Bowl Matchups

USC has the #5 passing offense in the country. They have a freshman QB that has thrown for 400+ yds. in the last 3 or 4 games. Their WR has 95 catches for 1,222 yds.

Nearly everyone is projecting Iowa vs. USC in the Holiday, which suddenly becomes a must-win game for the program. You can't lose a bowl game to a program with a worse team who just announced that they're bringing their hated coach back for another year and thus causing a fanbase revolt. I don't care whether it says "USC" on their jerseys or not...you have to win that game.

The USC OC and other O coaches are interviewing with other programs

Pac 12 D outside of Utah is worst than Hoover. Not that any of the idiots here watch the Pac 12

Utah is the only elite defense in the PAC 12.. Oregon & Washington are pretty good at some things, decent at others. After that Ca; & USC offer some resistance in some areas. Arizona State isn't very good. The rest are a dumpster fire of epic proportions.

Here is the bottom page of the passing yards allowed page. There's seven of USC's opponents listed. (Note though, I am not saying USC's passing attack is going to be easy to handle, but it's hard to judge based on how bad USC's opponents are at pass defense. ) https://www.ncaa.com/stats/football/fbs/current/team/695/p3

PAC 12 - Passing Yards Allowed

One team ranked in the top 50 - Utah at 12
Three teams ranked 51 to 100 - Oregon at 58, Washington at 63, USC at 99
Eight teams ranked 101 to 130 - Ouch

Granted that pigs are flying around all over the place in the PAC12, but 8 teams in the bottom 30 is ridiculous. (Six of those are in the bottom 15) That's some bad pass coverage. Other opponents Notre Dame was 3, BYU 36, and Fresno State 105.

USC's record was 1-4 against the teams in the top 100 in pass yards allowed. They beat Utah.

If Iowa can find a way to score a few more points, they can play with USC.

QB - Kedon Slovis (Fr) CMP-260, ATT-362, CMP%-71.8, YRDS-3242, AVG-9.5, TD-28, INT-9, LNG-95

The three receivers in question are: Michael Pittman (Sr) 95 for 1222 yrds, 12.9 avg, 11 TD; Tyler Vaughns (Jr) 68 for 858 yrds, 12.6 avg, 6 TD; Amon-Ra St. Brown (So), 68 for 879 yrds, 12.9 avg, 1 TD.

Iowa's defense has it's work cut out for it, and the offense needs to find a way to score a few more points.

I was wrong, I was thinking Citrus all the way. I was thinking that the Citrus did not want Michigan because of them playing there recently.

Anyways, it is going to be a fun game. It will be nice to see this Hawk team play against a non SEC team in a bowl for a change. I haven't watched USC at all, but I can't believe they have a defensive line like Bama or Auburn would have.

I'm sure this was not an issue since they could match up Michigan and Alabama. Once that became available they were going to hop on that.
