Black and gold blowout

Based on how unbelievably good of a shooter he is. Sure he could pull a Josh O and struggle in games, but he is still a better pure shooter then him.

Amazing crowd for this. It was just 2 years ago they had this before a football game, giving away free pulled pork sandwiches in front of Carver, and you did not need a ticket to get in.

A lot of the games we lost last year, JO had the chance to maybe make a shot to either get ahead and momentum, or to seal the deal and that team made a run to win.

Nobody shot the ball from 3 well last year...McCabe was the best they prior season and wasn't to far ahead of Oglesby last year.

If this season rides on Oglesby, Iowa is screwed. Iowa needs two or three guys to shoot well from 3, not just one. If someone can separate themselves it would be a bonus.

"If you provide pulled pork, they will come." wait..

Based off seeing both shoot. Jok has a much better stroke and just based off of high school numbers, its not close.

First of all, Jok does not have a better stroke. At all.
Second, Oglesby was significantly bigger recruit outta HS. WAY BIGGER. So don't ever refer to HS again

Jok offers: Iowa and Drake

Oglesby: Iowa, Arizona State, Butler, Illinois, Boston College, Creighton, Indiana State, Minnesota, UNI, Northwestern, and Providence.

So don't ever try to say that again.

I'm not saying I disagree with you, but I disagree with you. I think JO will have a much better year this year. Last year he was expected to be the 3pt specialist. This year, there are two others that will be expected to be that. That alone will take pressure off of JO.

Do I think he'll be the ONE?? No. And that's why he could be.

GO HAWKS!!!

You are wrong on both occasions here. Jok has probably the most comfortable, pure stroke I have seen from an Iowa freshman for a long time.

Oglesby squeaked into the Rivals 150 list after having one monster summer. "Way bigger" is like saying Gabe is going to average a double double.

In all honesty, I think Jok is a far better recruit and will be a far better player than Oglesby, which actually the bar isn't set too high there, so I don't really think have any ounce of a clue on this one.

Jok will be more of a contributor than Oglesby this year and be far more of an efficient player. Look I hope Oglesby breaks out of his slump more than anyone so I don't have to see all the Oglesby threads when Iowa loses, because he is the "key" to Iowa and the only player who is capable of shooting a three pointer after all.

I don't get your logic in the first place because just tell me when Oglesby has proven to be a consistent contributor, he hasn't, that is a fact and saying he is "key" to Iowa is just silly. Could he be a "key" to Iowa's success, yeah, but so could Devyn Marble and Anthony Clemmons. What is your point?

You're joking, right??

And with that info alone... it proves it. So please tell me how Jok was more highly touted...

Blue, love your optimism here, but when has Oglesby proven he is capable in-game? Once, against Illinois, other than that...well to answer my own question, none.

Stephen Curry went to Davidson, I think that is the most ignorant argument people can use. What were his offers out of HS?

You are also comparing an offer list of a guy, Ogelsby who was 100% healthy in his HS career and a guy, Jok, who was not and was considered the best player in his class after his freshman season...so I ask you again, what is your point?

If Oglesby makes shots he will get more minutes than Jok. Idk why you guys think Jok is guaranteed all these minutes as a freshman. Fran likes JO more than Jok if you haven't heard him talk. He says Josh is the best shooter he's ever coached and his defense is good and he can handle the ball. He says Jok can score but needs to play D. Josh will be a bigger contributer and get more minutes if he can make shots. Idk where you guys are getting thr idea Jok is going to get all these minutes and start. As of right now it seems like JO is still ahead of Jok in Frans mind.

Uhh that the more offers you have and the better quality the higher and better recruit... that is common sense. JO was a higher recruit outta HS. Idc if Jok was hurt or if he might be better. JO was a bigger deal.

sportstalent: Your profile pic is Clemmons. Go worry about him turning the ball over and making smart decisions then come chat.

You are deranged if you think JO was a bigger deal because of his offer list compared to Jok, the injury and the improper rehab scared schools away for Jok, do you know anything about the road Jok took to Iowa, seriously.

Add your little jab at Clemmons, I live in Michigan and Clemmons is from Michigan...get a clue. He saved Iowa in some games, others he didn't play well, but he was a freshman.

To your comment on Fran liking JO, I don't care, Fran isn't going to play players that aren't better than ones on the bench. Jok will be the best player Fran has recruited to date...you can mark that down.

Jok was ranked higher than players like Jabari Parker before his injury. ESPN said Jok was a player that was going to have a bigger impact in college than Harrison Barnes after his freshman year, he gets hurt and that is the story of how Jok ended up at Iowa. If you don't like it, oh well, it is the truth.

Keep living in your dreamland and thinking Oglesby who has not proven any more than Jok at the college level is a far BIGGER recruit and is a better player.
