BF calling an awful game

Have to get better field position.....must open it up Brian.....IA receivers need to catch the ball before running with it.

Of course, Defense need to continue to play out of their mind and Kinnick crowd stay loud!!!!
 
Completely get them off balance. Get the fullback involved. Do a couple pass plays to the fullback in space. Loosen that D up. Need to use more players and options against top team. Shit they won't expect.
 
I don't watch the Patriots much. Do they run into walls much? cuz that's what Brian tried doing for almost 3 full quarters.
 
I'm not going to be able to watch that first half ever again. When Iowa threw the ball and spread the field they moved it just fine.

When they tried to play in a phone booth against 8 people they got stomped.
 
You can tell whats brian and whats kirk interjecting his poison into the offense. Those runs on 2nd down are CLASSIC kirk. Everyone from here to pluto knew what was coming.
 
hopefully after 4 games they'll realize they have to spread it out a bit and throw on first down, the OL just can't run block. Statistically the D was garbage tonight but watching it you would have never had known it. The DL got pushed around when PSU ran the ball but Barkley was a beast tonight, best player on the field.
 
The hawk offense needs to throw to open up the run. Four games in and every defense is running gap covered blitzes to stop the run then get after the qb. I know wadley is the man and the main offensive threat but use him somewhat as a decoy and then find him in space.

I liked the draw action to wadley but teams are just keying on him because they know he is our main or only big play person. Get him in space and use him in play action to get the passing game going first, back up the defense and then mix in the run
 
Yeah I'm not sure why we didn't call more plays out of the I formation. Give Akrum a lead blocker sometimes. I'm also not sure why we never used the FB screen PSU never ever ever paid attention to certain offensive players. They were crashing on ends every play. Also, the safety was a god awful play call why would you pitch the ball around in the end zone there. Play action deep on 2nd down would've been a better play.
 
Needed more play action on 1st down, but also early on the receivers have to catch the ball. Hard to open the playbook when you start deep in opposing territory. With the pressure they were bringing early not sure why we didn't see some screens. I thought Stanley played well and stayed in the pocket. He does need to decide to run a little earlier but that will come.
