IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The son of Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz beat out 100 other applicants (giggles) for a position on his father's staff and was given a salary $15,000 higher than a second assistant coach hired at the same time, according to documents released Friday.

I have zero doubt that Polasek is a better OC than Brian. I wonder what they did in practice to prepare the offense against 8/9 man fronts and blitzing. I wonder if they did anything at all. 99% of Iowa fans knew it was coming, did Brian?

I get trying to establish the run, but when they are keying on you, you sometimes need to pass first to establish the run. I think this is where they had problems the other night. Trust Stanley as he's shown to make good decisions and take care of the ball. Needed more passes to the RB's. In addition, I'd like to see the FB get some short passes to loosen them up. Keep the D off balance.
