B1G Ten So Far

Minnesota - jury still out but defense is stout. Glad game is in Iowa City.

Wisconsin - back to 2017 good. Taylor catches TDS now. This is not a game I see Iowa winning.

Rutgers - scores more points in a half then they did for a single game last year. MUCH improved and not sure Iowa is covering the spread on this one now.

MSU - their defense is tops in the country. Offense was meh. MSU would maybe beat Iowa 5-2.

Purdue - Moore is better than anyone in B1G on offense. Really wish Brohm would’ve left. They are contenders in the West.

From what BTN, pods, and what we’ve read on Stanley, makes me very weary of his progress. Sense he will press too much this year. He says he doesn’t listen to the noise but he obviously hears it. That tells me he tries too hard to NOT make mistakes and overthinks what he’s doing. That’s scary for a senior QB. He’s they key this year.

So is Purdue still a contender in the West

Score one for the former Hawkeyes, Nevada HC Jay Norvell.

Also, is it an inherent law that Purdue must have an Anthrop on their football or basketball team?

It's like keeping track of all of Rick Barry's kids.

Side note. David Bell gets into the scoring column in his first college game. That's OK, we have receivers who can catch some TD's as well.

Correct. B1G West is a competition for 2nd place.
iowa hasn’t even played a week one game and Wisconsin has already beat them. Can you spill the news on which bowl game Iowa is going to as well by about week 3? Would be much appreciated so I can plan a trip! Love it.

One thing stuck out for me, every b1g qb so far is willing to run the ball. We are going to see lots of yards gained by qb scrambles this year. Us, not so much.

That's because KF and son are about 10 years behind the times. Stanley is an absolute statue back there and is no threat to make a play with his feet. Probably the least mobile qb in the conference easily. A qb that can run is a killer to a defense. Look how many times it has burned us.

lmao South Florida just isn’t good. They looked awful. We’ve gotten to anointing teams as champs after one game? Hahahahaha

As for anointing teams as champs, what do you think people will say after we win tonight? It will be Stanley for Heisman, we will be in the championship game, etc. We wouldn't go down to South Florida and win like that. Wisconsin is tough, and will be with the qb they recruited behind their current qb, and they have skilled receivers that are better than anything we have. Taylor is an animal, and their defense is going to be tough again. I think they had something like 5 starters out and they still beat us in Kinnick last year. We lost our best players on a mediocre offense, and have the same qb that has the same problems he had last year according to all reports.

This is such a weak point. There has been plenty of pocket type qbs that led their teams to success in recent seasons. You also risk injury a lot more with these running back qbs.

I'll post some numbers in a bit here.

Deace says their DL/OL are among the best in the league.
Deace said that the Big10 bus guys said that the Gophers’ lines look just as good as the Badgers’ lines so he gave them an extra point or two based on that.

Well I though we were hawk fans not badger fans. I stopped reading your message after Stanley

If you don’t like Iowa why do you even post on here? Or following them? That’s lame as hell to be a Hawkeye fan betting against the Hawks IMO. Lame. Go to the badgers boards and blow smoke up the badgers snatches there so you can follow them closer and talk with their fans about how they are going to win the National Title this year. As far as Stanley being a Heisman. F#^! Yeah he is, he’s a god damn stallion that’ll make money playing football. I hope he is because then Iowa will be better.

Nice to see Jay Norvell get a signature win for Nevada. Who will Brohm throw under the bus, Sindelar? (Does he have another decent QB to put on the field?) Or will he fire a coordinator?

Ya have to ask, is this all on him or is part of it on the coaches. It is nothing new with Iowa QB's playing tight. I think a lot of it is Ferentz's methodical thinking They play tight.

I look back at that Iowa vs Ohio St anomaly 2 yrs ago and can only think one thing. The coaches maybe thought they didn't have a chance in hell that game and said F it and let Stanley loose. I think they knew they were over matched and said Fit, Stanley ended up playing the most loose in any game he ever has and you saw the outcome.

Minnesota was less than impressive. Not sure they will have enough offense to keep up with most teams. Wisconsin pounded South Florida but I'd be surprised if SF makes a bowl game. Taylor is a stud though and we always struggle to stop stud RB's. Rutgers scored points on UMass. That's not surprising or a reason to make me think they are greatly improved. Not sure what to make of Purdue. Michigan State looks a lot like Iowa. Very strong defense and some questions on offense. The next two weeks will tell me a lot more than this first one.

Yea, one of their TD's was actually a defensive INT and TD.

Nice Post Caddy. South Florida had lost 6 straight heading into that game last night...were seriously undersized and couldn't put pressure on the QB...but by all means lets put Wisconsin in the B10 Championship. I know Wisky is going to be tough...but that offensive line didn't face anyone with size last night. Let's see how they handle 280lb DEs and some size in the middle. Taylor is just Taylor...if you don't gang tackle him or let him get going without slowing him down...he's getting yards. Getting Cephus back is also a big, big deal...he can play.

Let's see Wisconsin face a good defensive line before we get on our knees. They are starting a ton of new people on Offensive line and I think they are going to have some issues protecting.

What's strange is that Ferentz had Brad Banks early on in his coaching tenure and had success with that team and style of play for that team. It was Ferentz's first 10 win team. One would think he'd strive to play that style and find that kind of QB but he never really has. Weird.
