B10 = Best Conference in Basketball

If Kansas was ranked where they should have been, the big 12 wouldn't have gotten so much hype. Just because you have a couple players that look flashy doesn't mean you're a great basketball team.

Playing without one of those two players for the first couple tourney games was also a factor in them getting knocked out early. Embiid was a big loss, and Self didn't seem to make much in the way of adjustments to account for that loss. After the two best teams (KU and ISU), the Big 12 just had a fair share of solid teams. The B1G had a few more top-caliber teams, and the bottom of the conference was better.

No way. Kansas won the Big 12 going away and lost to a weak Stanford team.

I do think ISU could have won the whole thing with Niang but not a chance without him.

Look at the Hawks, could easily still be playing right now if they'd hit just one more shot.

I think Wisky loses to Zona but very real chance to get 3 BIG teams into the Elite 8

Does everyone in this thread realize that Kansas was playing without the future number #1 pick in this years draft? Kansas isn't anywhere near the same team when they have embiid and ISU disposed of them fairly easy in the big 12 tourny. The big 10 was incredibly top heavy. While 3 big ten teams are still standing there were only 3 that survived past the round of 64.

KU lost to an extremely average Stanford team. They were not worthy of a two seed to begin with, they played a very tough non-conf resume but didn't do particularly well against it. They cruised through an overrated B12 and then struggled once they go back outside of the conference. Kansas St, Oklahoma and Oklahoma St were other teams who did very little in the non-conf, no surprise they lost in the first round. The B12 did well at playing the RPI game this season, but when it came time to prove it on the court they are coming up short - again.

Also Wiggins did play in that game, but I don't blame you if you didn't notice him.

Spare me. Everyone is banged up.

They cruised through the big 12 because they had embiid. They lost 2 of there last 3 against big 12 teams after he went down.

The Big 12 is a deeper conference, but the fact that the Big 10 contains more teams capable of going deep into the tournament is news to absolutely nobody.

We can play the "what if" game all you want. What if Michigan had McGary? They didn't have him all year and they still won the B10. He was as dominant as it gets. While MSU is somewhat healthy now, they battled through injuries all year. Sure Kansas was a better team with Embiid, but you never know whether or not they would have advanced this far with him. That's a pure guessing game.

What we do know is that the B12 has one team left. While the SEC and B10 are still rolling with 3. It is what it is. You can't argue with results.

How is the B12 a deeper conference when the B10 has sent more teams further into the tournament?

Both conferences feature teams in the middle to bottom part of the conference that have competed with the upper echelon teams. At this point you can't really measure which average teams from the B10 are better or worse than the average teams from the B12. All you can do is look at where the conferences are at now.

Playing games in conference does nothing to show which conference is the best. You find that out when the conferences play each other. That is happening right now and the B10 is proving they are deeper than the B12.

So what's their excuse for losing to Colorado, Villanova, San Diego St or Florida? Kansas didn't beat a single team that won an NCAA tournament game during their non-conf schedule.

I 100% agree with this. Everyone knew Oklahoma and KSU weren't built to make runs in the tourny. OSU was too depleted and Texas is still very young and inexperienced. Were those 4 worthy of the tourny? Yes. Kansas, Baylor and ISU were the clear favorites to make runs for the big 12. Unfortunately Kansas and ISU are missing arguably their best players.

Well let's be honest, not many teams are built to make tourney runs when they have to face off with a powerhouse like NDSU. The B12 has proven it is no match for the Bison.

See Kentucky. When 4 of your top 6 players are freshman and the other 2 are sophomores you're going to start off a little slow.
