I am sorry if I was not clear. I was not arguing, just posting what I had seen and heard. That is why I asked you to fact check...just for clarity. Considered it simply a discussion with you. You went to the same resource I would probably have used, Snopes. I have no argument with their response or yours.

BTW it was also in Jerusalem Post, but quoted same Dr. The Post is also highly accurate with a Political bent. Hard to find anything w/o a slant. Doesn't make the story credit worthy or not.

Not picking on Republicans...just that Bush and Trump were in office during major crises. Go back and look what was reported what they said by major media leading up to each crisis. How many people bought the dip? I did..... He and others new the truth.

I suggest looking at a lot of sources and make decisions. Kind of like reading Drudge Report and Drudge Report....opposite slants

I am anti socialism and anti big federal government. I won't return a check distributed from the government back to the government. That is like finding a dollar in the trash and then throwing it back in lol.

Instead what I will do with it is donate it to someone needy that I encounter in my community.

Mark my words government stimulus is more dangerous to the American poor and middle class than any "draconian shutdowns". You can book a historic climb of inflation over the next 20 years. Yet there is no hesitation in Washington. Even by the "conservatives".

I guess it is just time for me to accept that public opinion has changed to sucking up government handouts that they can't afford and have zero business providing. In 2 generations time we will have stripped the nation of it's considerable wealth built over 2 centuries. My average brain can't even comprehend what it looks like when the floor falls out from underneath this movement. Always hoping that I'm wrong.

Yes, if the Fed prints a bunch of money then that can increase inflation in normal times but this money will replace lost wages and not crazily increase demand but will replace lost wages.

But this current Senate bill has big payout slush funds to businesses which is bad. Why bail out cruise lines that are incorporated in other countries????

Businesses employ people. If the businesses don't get bailed out and go under, everyone who works for those businesses is out a job.

It was on CNN. Dr. Fauci was the primary guest for a two hour town hall. There was also an article on CNN earlier in the day that discussed the situation in Italy and the failure of the population to follow recommendations for limitations on contact. They had people on the ground discussing the issues in detail. That was today, Sunday. BTW...I am sure PC, that you are fully aware of legitimate fact checking resources. I guess if you don’t want to believe them, that is on you.

I'm honestly not aware where you can fact check anymore. I just saw a tweet of a doctor from Iran crying saying they have to pull ventilators from people over 65 to give them to younger people. Someone replied that the age is 60 in Italy which would line up with what Gold said. No idea if it's true or not. No idea where to fact check a story like that.

Ever heard of a false equivalency? Look it up. Good grief.

No, it is not a false equivalence. Both are issues where radical social changes could be implemented to prevent death. We could easily use GPS and governors to build cars that limit speeds in town to 10 mph and limit highway speeds to 25 mph plus mandate expensive safety features to cars to cause them to avoid collisions and pedestrians. Deaths would go to almost 0. Tens of millions of lives over the course of 2 decades on a worldwide basis. It would come at substantial cost. Yet we choose not to do it. Both COVID-19 and auto deaths are matters where we can reduce deaths if we are willing to incur substantial social costs. That is by definition not a false equivalence.

Literally just heard that on WSCR's Bernstein and McKnight show.

Vin is and has always been a voice of reason, in addition to being one of the greatest behind a mic in any profession.

Let's do this in steps. A lot of people need cash to buy food, pay water and electric/gas bills, and get basics like clothing, groceries, diapers, etc, soap, sanitizer etc.

Pass a bill that puts cash in consumers hands. That is # 1 priority. There are goods in some level of surplus that people need to buy but we know 50% of people have little or no sayings so get them money.

Then work on another bill to work on keeping businesses above water. What are the necessary businesses????

Why should we bail out a cruise ship business that is incorporated in another country??? We shouldnt but a slush fund with no strings attach could bail out Trump Arabian hotel. blah blah blah.

Well,ok, if you say so.

OK, then. Just post, do not fact check. We seemed to be able to do this easily enough in the past, until New phrases, “fake news” and “deep state” became the new “facts”.

I agree with you. The media has gotten to the point where they aren't credible. It's too bad.

I agree that both need to happen and in that order. But both do need to happen. Lots of jobs are created by cruise ships and hotels. If the government doesn't help them, and this drags on for a year or more, there will be zero hotels and zero cruise ships left open.

You guys are a sad bunch. I'll be expecting you to follow the seasonal flu outbreak just as closely next Nov. Good Lord....
