I think you're right...this trip was probably just a double check to make sure of his decision so he doesn't have any "what if"s or "I wonder"s in the future.

It wont break my heart. He will play for two seasons in Iowa City and be back in time to join Iowa State when we need him. If you dont think the turnover at running back will not affect him you are kidding yourself.
