Some of the worst April blizzards in Iowa have been during Masters weekend. The most famous may have been in 1973. Ten to twenty inches from Des Moines to the Mississippi River. Two days off from school. Today it would probably be the whole week. I was in second grade and didn't mind the snow days one bit.

After the 08 title game, Kansas was the last team to win the national championship that wasn't an east coast team or south east team. Kind of not pulling for Virginia tonight.

#11 for Texas Tech reminds me of Ralph Sampson who ironically played for Virginia in the 80's

Orlando Woolridge was a thorn in the side of Ralph Sampson's Number One Virginia Cavaliers
Orlando Woolridge picked up a loose ball with four seconds to go, shot from 18 feet and the ball zipped cleanly through the basket to give the Irish a 57-56 victory over previously undefeated Virginia.

With Jerry Sichting. Who stood about 6'1 to Sampson's 7'4. Ralph probably had about a 20 inch reach advantage.
Years later Sampson's kid would play at Minnesota, where Devyn Marble had a memorable dunk over him.
