When you are slandered publicly, then a response is appropriate.
Honestly, who cares what some moron thinks online. Anything public that needs to be shared imho should go through the head coach and the Iowa media department. You don't need players going rogue online. Honestly, I perceive it to be a weakness for the players to respond back to that stuff and a part of the larger problem with mental breakdowns going on throughout the year with the program in games. You have to take the high road.
I would make it a violation of team rules to get into an argument over team issues online. This is one thing I appreciate Ferentz does well with his program in keeping a tight leash on social media.
