I have felt for a long time that Erb needs to go and the stats in that article support my position. Erb was also the one trotting Grigsby out on the field several years ago, when Grigsby clearly was not trying very hard and his play was really hurting the team. It was only in the final game...

Its just too bad that Kirk gets annoyed. Run the program effectively and maybe the questions will be more to your liking. The guy is a jerk. Getting just like Paterno. Nobody should question what he does or happens within the program.

herbyhawk....I don't hate Coker, but what good rb wants to come into this environment knowing Iowa's history for booting players? I agree with another poster that something is seriously wrong with the Hawkeye football program. The overall attrition rate is also among the worst in the NCAA.

And another one bites the dust. Is Coker next? Iowa's revolving door with rb's continues. I venture to guess that no other school has anywhere near this kind of record with retaining rb's.

Ploen, Jeter and Jauch were a beautiful tandem to watch play. Those were Evy's glory days before he became AD and things went downhill for the Hawks.

I have to say, I was also surprised by Mr. Rice's press conference. A very pleasant and likable guy. I expect that Boise State will be very successful under his leadership.

I have to say guys, there was never a coach who had to tell me to be patient, how to read/see holes, blitzes and etc. from day one. The only thing I needed was 4.4-4.5 speed and you don't teach that.

Any rb that needs a rb coach to show him how/where to run, block and etc., shouldn't call himself a rb (stupid would be a better name). A rb coach is a make work position to keep an incompetent friend on the staff, imo. Erb's special teams accomplishments speak for themselves.

Agree with you hawkihoops. Archie should have been told to get his degree because there would be no 5th year scholly for you. The guy is a walking accident waiting to happen.
