Interesting Read on Fran

From Mike Hlas from The Gazette. Not to take any jabs at Captain Kirk but it is refreshing to read Fran's pressers. Nine times out of ten with Ferentz I can pretty much tell you how he will answer any given question. Doesn't make him a bad coach obviously (see also Bill Belicheck) but it is nice to get more than just coach's talk once in a while.

That is a good read. I like hearing Fran talk about the team, in pre- and post-game interviews and the radio show, etc. He sounds a lot more with it than Lickliter was.

McCaffrey is a natural when it comes to relating to people. His interviews are always informative and give greater insight into how much thought he puts into every decision. His candidness after losses makes you embrace what the guy is all about, even if the outcome wasn't favorable.

Fran is a great communicator,period. Now, in KF's defense, after 12 years,it might be that it is hard to give good pressers,as all the good lines have been used before.

Fran is a different personality from KF. But clearly, he shows that his brother has clued him in well on that fine line between ''saying what you want to get out there(KF-style) '' and all coachspeak. KF tends toward saying what he wants,in coachspeak.
