My opinion is that they should get the best assistant coach possible, period. If that's a former Iowa basketball player, great. I'm not sold on there being any significant value in having a former Iowa basketball player on the staff just for the fact that they were a former Iowa basketball...

WE are fans, not players. I'll trust Coach McCaffery to get things going there. Floor colors, uniforms, water towers, etc. are things fans like to talk about once in awhile. Especially when fan apathy is at an all time low, it's fun to talk about the little things with some enthusiasm.

Something like this could go a long way in restoring some of the tradition and fun associcated with Iowa Basketball. I say a big YES to the gold paint on the floor! Someone get a Facebook page going :-)

A few years ago, I witnessed a Per Mar guy (or whatever outfit has the "security" people with the blue jackets) chug half a bottle of Jack at a tailgate after the game was over. He was in full uniform at the time. He proceeded to dance with some girls at the tailgate, who thought it was funny...

That is exactly what Iowa will be asking the next coach to do! I think this could be viewed as a positive if someone took over a program before and won with someone else's guys.
