It would be nice to see Green play at the power 5 level. He does appear to have similar talent to Bohannon. The Missouri Valley has taken a huge hit in basketball with the loss of Creighton and Wichita State over the last 3-4 years.
I wish Green would have waited to commit somewhere else as I think he would have gotten power 5 offers and could have fallen back to UNI if he did not. Pretty hard to pass up on a kid who can shoot like that even if just a role player at the next level which I believe he could be in a lot of teams playing rotation. Good luck to him, seems like a good kid, UNI likely got a very good player for their level.

He did have P5 offers. He chose to play for his dad. Hard to blame him.

Selfishly, I was hoping to see him play at the next level. At UNI I will see him when he plays IA and maybe ISU, possibly Drake or if UNI makes the NCAA. Seems to me UNI will have to win the Missouri Valley Tournament for them to get in the NCAA as I don't see that conference getting two in anymore.
At Iowa, ISU or any Big 10 School I would have seen him play much more often. Again just selfish on my part. Wish him all the best in his career.

UNI has been to more NCAA tournaments than Iowa has, in the past 10 years. Maybe he made the right choice?
I'm pretty sure I saw every single game of May after hos sophomore year. I know exactly how athletic he was on the court, so my opinion isn't based on him. My opinion is based on a small sample size of what I saw in person, so it may be flawed. But again, it has nothing to do with May and everything to do with Wieskamp. It was shocking to see how quick he could jump, how high he could jump, how long he hung in the air, and how quick he could jump again after landing. May's limited ball handling ability (which requires athleticism by the way) prevented him from showing off his full extent of athletic ability. Or at least prevented him from showing it frequently.

Time will tell. You may very well be right. I can not think of one team in the Missouri Valley that UNI should lose to, assuming UNI gets back to how they have been in the past. It would seem logical that they would win the MVC tournament every 2 or 3 years. Will be interesting to observe if losing Creighton and Wichita State impacts UNI's recruiting going forward. Most likely will see him on TV 5 or 6 times over the next 4 years assuming they win the MVC conference tournament every other year. I did not see one UNI game on TV this year which is unusual. Normally see them at least once. I would have enjoyed seeing him 10 or more times in a year at Iowa. I could see him being one of the outside shooters that torches Iowa's perimeter defense. Hope he has a great career at UNI other then when they play Iowa every other year.

I’m sure by the time Pmac gets to campus Fran will have gotten him coached up on playing defense.
So when he's 21 he'll be good. Promising! Haha. I was not impressed with Patrick at all at from what I saw. Joe is so good though seeing him in person. I think he'll be our best player next year if Tyler doesn't come back.
2-3 years is promising when he's a junior in high school. 2 years is his freshman year and 3 years is either his redshirt freshmen year or sophomore year. That gives him 3 or 4 years of being good in an Iowa uniform. What's wrong with that?
I guess I was just frustrated with his play in DSM and he was a lot worse than I expected. When someone says 2-3 years he'll be good it doesn't give me much hope since he should be a senior and a 2018 recruit anyways. On the flip side Joe was even better than I expected and hopefully Pat never plays here so it all could work out for the better.
Why does it matter how old he is? Unless you think athletes peak at 22 or 23? Him being a year older is nothing but a benefit.
Because he is closer to his peak than if he was a year younger. It's the same reason NBA drafts younger players. I couldn't believe it when the guy next to me at the game told me he was supposed to be a a senior after seeing his frame. I am still holding out hope he is not playing here and we have someone new righting the ship though.
Closer to his peak is a good thing for college and a bad thing for NBA. Are you afraid he's going to peak while still in college? Most players probably don't peak until after they graduate. Especially physically.
After seeing him in person I would feel A LOT better if he was 16 playing instead of 18, especially with his frame. I don't think it's that confusing.
It's not confusing at all. Just kinds backward thinking. He's still a junior eligibility wise. The only reasons your logic would matter is if they only let him play college for 3 years because of his age, or if you think he will peak before his senior year.
Uthoff was a year older than his class and look at how much better he was as a senior than as a junior. He was probably still better the year after that, which would have been his senior year if he had the luxury of being a year older than his high school class like Pat is.
