Would you be happy with making a bowl?

I feel '01'ish in that I just want to make a dang bowl game. I would love a 6 win season. What say you?

Whether or not you think Iowa should be in this position in year 15 of a coaching era, yes, for this year, I would be pleased.

Yes. Very much so. With all the juniors and sophomores on the two deeps it would really help build for next year.

4-8 Mad
5-7 Disappointed
6-6 Satisfied
7-5 Happy
8-4 Happier

Good stuff. I would be happy with 6 wins.

I picked 3-9 in the season prediction thread, which means I think I will be at this level:
3-9 Fran McCaffery

After last years pathetic showing, I would be pleased if they looked better than a mid level D1 team again. That includes coaching staff too.

Yes, anytime a d-1a team can make a bowl game with a qb that's not taken a college football game snap is a feat. I know, I know, I know there are exceptions to this as there have been no experience qb's who've lead their teams to bowls before.

with a 4-8 season what would happen to season ticket reorders?

6 wins is a must for me to keep going to games. I won't stop getting season tickets but I'll be selling a few games in the future

Depends on what bowl you're thinking about would dictate the level of my happiness. 6-6 and going to a third tier bowl would only make me happy because I would get to see another Hawkeye game, but 6-6 is still just that - not good, not bad, not satisfactory, just average (it would also likely mean they had a losing record in the Big Ten).

I think season ticket holders who are ticked would do that same thing. No way they'd not keep buying season tickets and that's what counts.

At year 15 with this staff and given the staggering amount of resources (overall) that have been thrown at this program during those 15 years, 8-4 is my baseline level for satisfaction any given year. I realize this team looks "not good" on paper and that simply making a bowl game might be all they are capable of. However, I refuse to sit back and say that is okay. If we want to be on par with Iowa State, Minnesota, Purdue or Illinois I would prefer the funding be diverted into the general scholarship fund rather than being used to overpay coaches and buy shiny new toys--both of which produce mediocre to poor on field results.

Let's also not forget Iowa is playing in the B10, which has not even been close to a top tier league over the past 5-7 years. That fact coupled with Iowa's recent performance makes this 6-6 or worse talk that much more maddening.

I would be okay with 6 wins and a bowl. I'd prefer 7 wins PLUS a bowl WIN.

I think a bowl game would be considered a good season for this squad, and I'd be happy with that.

That being said... 6-6 teams shouldn't be going to bowl games. Bowls are for winning teams.
