Wisconsin vibe

I know there is a thread about them looking past us but from what I have seen they think it will be a blowout. They also act like this game has never been close?

I havent really seen or heard that from Wisconsin fans. I live up here as well and the general consensus from listening to local sports radio, talking to their fans, etc.......is theyre expecting a very tough game against Iowa. Similar to Iowa, guarded optimism at this point.

Hmmm, I haven't seen this anywhere. Where are you reading or hearing this?

Their scout board. It's pretty funny...lots of rationalization. The best comment was "CJB couldn't even beat out Rudock. Therefore, Rudock is the better QB, and Rudock couldn't beat us last year."

I'm just glad we're finally entering conference play. At this point I think both programs/fanbases have a lot going for them, but at this point I don't think either has enough of a body of work to stand on to feel overly confident.

Sounds like the logic from someone from Wisconsin.

My personal favorite: "PITT is not a good team and Iowa needed a last second FG, at home to beat them"
I guess they forget the fact that their current HC is responsible for the talent on that PITT team.
More Wisconsin logic.

Not to mention the fact that Pitt's new coach is a defensive mastermind.

I like how the one poster early in the thread talks like the Iowa State game really isn't a good win and really wasn't a difficult road game. This coming from a state where there is absolutely no in-state rivalry they have to play. They would not understand how lesser teams can get up for games like that. At least one poster later acknowledged it. Wisky needs to remember what it was like when they completely sucked in the 1980's. There was a time that you could mark a W for your team on a schedule for that game.

I guess they think Rudock went to Michigan because their medical program is better than Iowa's.

Getting beat down by Alabama gives your team some credibility..... I guess????
One Connie fan actually stated the reason why Chryst didn't win at PITT was because he didn't know the town or the high school coaches but he does in Wisconsin. So that equals a certain amount of automatic victories, I guess? Fact is he had 4 years to establish ties to those high schools and the towns. The Connie excuses are entertaining.

These games usually bring out the best in the Hawks. They'll play at a higher level than we've seen so far.

Hokks have several advantages in this game -- balanced attack, a QB who can make something out of nothing, an improving run defense, great special teams play. I expect a tough, hard game but think we have a real shot against the Vadgers.

Just some history.

Thank goodness the games are played on the field and not the scout board.
