Nobody has disagreed with me yet, as far as the 3 horrible calls go. Bad officiating was always going to determine the winner. Wisconsin was just the recipient of the last 3 blown calls. 5 min earlier it would have been UK winning because of officiating, and who the hellz knows who would have been the receipient of blown calls if it went OT.
This I can actually agree with (If I understand your point). That's what made the officiating in that game sooooo bad. The refs missed some of the easiest calls. They were largely missed in favor of Calamari for 3/4 of the game. Then they went 180 and favored Connie.
Easiest, most ridiculous calls/non-calls:
Lyles taking 6 steps on 2 pivot feet without a dribble, on the low block against Frank. Not only did they not call the travel but after Lyles changed his pivot foot to allow him to turn right into Frank and shoot, the refs actually called Frank for the foul, leading to a 3 pt play. Lyles could never had drawn that foul if he hadn't changed pivot feet because Frank was in perfect defensive position.
Lyles slapping Gasser in the face after the ball had already gone through the hoop. Don't get me wrong. I'd like to slap Gasser for the way he plays defense too but it's not allowed and it was clear to me.
The blocking foul they called on Frank when Andrew "FTN" Harrison drove the lane. Frank was clearly set and out of the circle. They compounded that by calling a charge on Wisconsin the next play down the floor, for less contact, while the defender was sliding over.
The offensive foul they called on Hayes for using his elbow while he was driving the lane. It's certainly a foul but every single player does it, on every possession, especially when you are playing against Wisconsin, due to how much mugging Wisconsin does on defense. If anything, kentucky's players would have been doing it as much if not more.
Then there are the 3 calls you mentioned, that went against Kentucky. Just horrendously inconsistent officiating all night long.
