Did he play that guy. Unlike the clowns who search the transfers to get the criminals and thugs they employ.
So the only thing matters is that he didn't play? So it's okay to recruit felons, as long as they flame out? Good to know.
Its possible that the reason the basketball team loses a lot at the end of the year is because of the deep rotation. Its possible that the players that start might be getting a little bored when they are continually taken in and out of games.
I hope Fran cuts down the rotation to 8-9 guys next year because I don't expect him to do it at this point in the season.
It seems to me he doesn't really have much of a plan. The play lately proves this.Yeah. On one hand he mentioned possibly shortening the rotation. Then, he mentions that he wishes he could also play Jones and Dailey.

McCaffery also said following the Michigan State game that he might consider changing his rotation. He has consistently used 11 different players in almost every league game and wondered if it might be beneficial to reduce that number.
He said he’s spent a lot of time contemplating that idea, but implied Thursday that he’ll probably continue as he has been.
“There's always going to be a sense of fairness with me,’’ he said. “It's not going to be ‘OK, well, I need to shorten the bench so you two guys aren't playing.’ If they deserve to play, then they need to play, and that might mean that others don't play as much … But I'll still probably lean towards playing guys that deserve to play.
“I'm having a hard time not playing Dale Jones and Maishe Dailey, to be honest with you,’’ he added, pointing to the only two scholarship players who have not been part of the rotation.

Maybe he plays 11 guys because guys 5-11 are all roughly interchangeable in terms of basic talent. Guys 9-11 might look better in practice than who he has 6-8 for a stretch of time so he feels compelled to give guys 9-11 more minutes. Then, maybe guys 6-8 start to reassert themselves and so on.
Whatever gets you through March!I love the fact that the clowns were licking our ass this year.
Because those 2 things are equal.........oh brother. When this kind of thing shows up I always feel a little obligated to remind people that Fran recruited a 26 year old felon. Seems pertinent.
He wasn't Lickliter's replacement. He was Lickliter's head recruiter/brains of the operation when Lickliter was at Butler. If Barta had any brains at all, he would have asked around and offered Stephens the job. Even I knew that Stephens was the engine for that program.Butler's replacement for Lickliter just coached the East in the NBA All Star game this past weekend. Weird how that works out.
That kickoff was epic.
Yeah, it was tied 10-10 at halftime. I think Iowa had 1st and Goal a couple times and shot itself in the foot with penalties, and missed a short FG just before halftime (very uncharacteristic of Nate Kaeding). It could easily have been more like 17-10 or 21-10 Hawks at halftime.
USC steamrolled us in the 2nd half, though.
I am on lightning1's ignore list so someone want to tell numbnuts it is S-T-E-V-E-N-S not Stephens. He is the dude that took Butler to back to back NCAA finals.
Well.......look at where Stephens is and look at where Lickliter is. You may find it funny that Barta is a moron but I don't.I will quote you.
And I find it funny that Iowa would hire the head recruiter/brains of the operation and leave the National Coach of the Year alone. Makes total sense.

The question should have been "why is a National Coach of the Year available?" Lol. You're just as dumb as Barta.Stevens had never been a head coach in his career. There aren't a lot of Big Ten schools who will hire a coach for his 1st head coaching job. Chris Collins at NW is the only current example.
Seriously, please name the time that there was a coaching search, and the National Coach of the Year is available, and the searching party says 'you know what, we don't want him, but we want his assistant'. It doesn't happen. Here's the list of the winners since 2000. Now, see if you can find the other example of where the assistant was the obvious choice to hire instead of the head coach.
2000 Gene Keady Purdue
2001 Tom Izzo Michigan State
2002 Kelvin Sampson Oklahoma
2003 Tubby Smith Kentucky
2004 Mike Montgomery Stanford
Phil Martelli Saint Joseph's
2005 Bruce Weber Illinois
