The way they are playing, they'd win in any conference. Have you watched them? Izzo called them the toughest team he faced last season, and Butler is even saltier this season.

The way they play defense on the perimeter and crash the boards at both ends allows them to play with anyone.

It also helps having NBA caliber talent (Hayward last year, Mack and Howard this season). And before you call me out on Howard, I'll go ahead and call him Brian Cardinal or Mark Madsen with a better offensive game.

If only there was someway for these teams to actually get the chance to play the big boys, I'm tired of the BCS screwing the mid majors over. They deserve a chance to prove they can play on the --- oops wrong sport.

Butler would do at least well enough to get in as an 8 seed.
 
I have two favorite teams. The Hawks & any team playing Butler. I even want Butler to lose in football.

I got so sick & tired hearing about "The Butler Way" during Lick's tenure that I am repulsed by anything Butler. Though, I have to admit, Stevens does not trump Butler as playing some type of special basketball that takes three to four years to learn & understand. Also, as far as I know, Stevens hasn't run anybody from the program because the player was to talented & athletic for "The Butler Way."
 
Not me…I will forever hate Butler for giving the Hawkeyes Todd effing Lickliter, and putting Iowa through it's darkest period in it's basketball history.

Not only do I hope they lose tonight, I also hope that Brad Stevens leaves them for some other team. I hope that team pays him some insane amount of money and that he fails just like Barry Collier and Todd Lickliter.

BTW, Butler winning is not an upset, or a surprise ... In fact, I think Butler is better and should win
 
Any time a team from a mid-major (like the Horizon League) has a chance to win it all at the expense of a conference like the ACC or Big East, I'm all for it.

It's impossible not to make the Iowa-Lickliter-Butler connection these days, but I don't hold it against Butler or their current group of players or coaches because our AD chose to make a bad hire 4 years ago.

I'm pulling for Butler 100% tonight.
 
1. I just don't understand hating the school or team because of Lickliter. They didn't come to us and push Lick on us. We went to them.

2. Can anybody honestly watch Butler play and say that THAT is Lick Ball? No. They play basketball. Their defense and ball movement is fun to watch, IMO. I don't ever remember Lick Ball being entertaining, and it was rarely effective.
 
The hate for Lackluster spilling over to Butler and Brad Stevens is totally misguided. For various reasons, some personal, I will root for any team to defeat UConn and their slimeball coach.
 
Was that Phil Haddy walking with Brad Stevens out to the court??
Or was it some other dude who looks EXACTLY like Phil? :confused:

I actually liken him to Jaokim Noah with a jump shot and free throws. And they are both fracking UGLY
 
With the way Buter is shooting right now you would think Lick was back on the sideline :) I am pulling for Butler though. Calhoun is a cheater.
