This.We were lucky to win that game, but ISU was lucky to even be in it. My god, if we could have converted those FGs into TDs, we would have scored in the 30's. Kudos to ISU's defense for keeping us from murdering them. And their offense was only one sustained drive and two exploitations of a backup DB. That game easily could have been 31 or 35 to 3. As I said all week, the Clowns are not in the same universe as Iowa this year. The football gods smiled on them this year and kept the ball game close, but that is not a very good football team.
This.
ISU’s two TDs were the result of big plays exploiting backup, inexperienced DBs. For the most part they were not in position to score. Hokks needed a couple of those FGs to be TDs.

Holly smokes it’s amazing. The conspiracy theories about the holding call is to die for. Even read where NCAA doesn’t want ISU playing for a National title so they had the refs cost ISU the game!!! This gets better and betterReading CryClownfantasies right now is GLORIOUS! I mean seriously I didn't know that ISU was CLEARLY the better team (even though Iowa had to play on the road with tons of weather delays and without nearly 4 key contributors out and 1/2 of its secondary out).
ISU gots it's two scores because Matt Hankins was injured, so congrats on ISU scheming the young DB and taking advantage. Besides that ISU pretty much did nothing all game long, but ISU fans think that ISU dominated the entire game.....LOLOLOL....I am really enjoying swimming in these Clown tears!
No he wasn’t. Isu neutralized pressure with shotgun+getting rid of it w/in 2 secs, and a treat of running. Masterfully, I might add. But AJ was not doubled let alone tripled hardly at all.
Saw this approach vs Miami, will see it again

True but Campbell is now 0-5 against the Hawks. And Nate is 3-0 against the clones.!!!Someone needs to go over to that site of theirs and remind that their QB is no longer undefeated at Jack Trice Stadium
He was the read man on the option a lot, so he wasn't blocked at all on those plays, which is a great way to take him out of the run game. I also know he was double-teamed on ISU's last drive on the holding/PI play and he got held as well. To me, it seemed like they doubled or at least chipped him a lot throughout the game.Just the 1st quarter from the 20 min condensed game on YouTube.Double teamed.

For the sake of argument:
They neutralize one of the best DE in the country. Iowa has 4 DBs that didn’t play. ISU claims to have the Heisman trophy winner this year in Purdy. Campbell is one of the “best” coaches in the country. At home. Yet they still get beat.
The only ones not blaming the refs...are saying that ISU would have won without the weather delays.
Add a new one to the clown excuse list

Their team is literally named after a type of storm. The irony.
As the option read man, I think AJ bit down on the mesh handoff every single time. I was shocked to see that. Brock pulled it and kept it himself, with pretty good success.
And they missed another one on the man blocking Eppy. The Clown fans in my FB are crying over a “phantom” holding call on that PI.
Jeez, I called that hold as it was happening.

It is very possible that this is what Iowa wanted to happen, that AJ's assignment was to hit the RB, that way forcing Brock to run the ball and letting our LB then get shots on him.
Noticed that a number of times where he followed the RB and Purdy kept it. Can't believe he was not assigned to maintain there until sure Purdy handed it off.
Maybe so, but I've never heard of a defense in which this is the assignment. To the best of my knowledge, that would be a new idea. DE's job is to contain ("C" gap, if you will). From the QB's perspective, if the DE bites down on the hand off, he keeps it himself off the edge every single time (because there's no one there...). This read has been a staple of football at all levels for the past 15 years, truly the modern version of the triple option (out of the shotgun).
According to gap assignments, I would wager AJ is not supposed to bite down on those hand offs.
