What's going on over at Cry-fan?

Just looking at posts on Cyclone Fanatic- and I saw this (under post Cocky Hawk Fans):

"I know every fan base has a-holes, but seems Iowa has more of them. Last night while leaving the stadium, had a teenage or early 20 something in a group of Hawk fans hold up his hand and say, “High five, in a row!!” Showed him my middle finger.

And of course this morning at Hy-Vee the Hawk jerseys and t-shirts were out in full force. Lots of condescending smirks too.

Damn I hate the Iowa game. Every year. Wouldn’t bother me to play someone else. A guaranteed win. Rant over. And $#@% the Hawks. Hope they lose every game."

So, curious who the "a-hole" is.....someone holding up a full hand for a "high five", or the response of one finger? By the way, DexterHawk, nice response you posted in that thread...........

This is why they are Lil Brother and will always be Lil Brother. Fans like him would rather beat Iowa and have bragging rights and go 3-9, than win 8 games.

Both were terrible when it counted.

Mistake-free special teams from Iowa and mongoloidian special teams from Lames was the difference. Skin that cat 10 different ways and it still comes out as special teams play being the winner.

Nate’s 3rd and 22 shot and his other nice throws are great, but he had just as many misses (the cause of those misses is irrelevant). The Hawkeyes plain lose this game if Duncan isn’t perfect or Sleep-Dalton punts like Bruce Jr.

And just for the homerish rubes out there who told the rest of us that the Rastetter thing wasn’t worth freaking out over, do you see the past two games how fucking important a good kicker and punter is???
Still pissed about last season. With a decent punter the ‘18 Hawks hobble together a double digit win season and an ass whooping in a meaningful January 1 bowl. The Mississippi State win was nice and all, but I’d take those results. Who knows, maybe our defense pulls out enough stops to win a bigger game. Maybe Fant plays if the Hawks win the West (Which they win with a better punter).

Besides Jason Baker, who are some of KF's better punters? One of them played for the Lions for awhile but I just can't get his name out of my lame brain.

The main point being the long hang time and booming punts this year are really helping and the last two years could have seen a couple more wins with better punting.

...

Iowa also gets the break on the run by Goodson setting up their last field goal where they completely ignore the block in the back in the backfield. If the penalty is called Iowa is backed up out of field goal range and who knows if they get close enough to try the field goal.
Um, no.

Blocks in the back are legal at the LOS until the ball-carrier leaves the blocking zone.

"Blocking in the Back ARTICLE 6. A block in the back (other than against the ball carrier) is illegal (A.R. 9-3-3-I, VII and -IX; and A.R. 10-2-2-XII). Exceptions: 1. Offensive players who are on the line of scrimmage at the snap within the blocking zone (Rule 2-3-6) may legally block in the back in the blocking zone, subject to the following restrictions: (a) A player on the line of scrimmage within this blocking zone may not leave the zone, return and block in the back. (b) The blocking zone disintegrates when the ball leaves the zone (Rule 2-3-6).

Blocking Zone ARTICLE 6. a. The blocking zone is a rectangle centered on the middle lineman of the offensive formation and extending five yards laterally and three yards longitudinally in each direction. b. The blocking zone disintegrates when the ball leaves the zone."

Kicking game is extremely important just ask Michigan State

Yeah well F them. It's hard to beat the crap out of someone when they get 2 long breaks.
Also, what stood out to me the biggest was a blatant block in the back by ISU that wasn't called.
A clock at 1 second, when the receiver was clearly out of bounds long before then.
I would say if anything the refs were ISU fans and not IOWA fans.

Thank you. Yes, that 12 to 14 yards of better net punting plus better hang time really makes a difference. We also have seen where booming them low and too far can be bad as in Nebby's comeback against Iowa in 2014.

A 42 yard avg with good hang time and few returns is really good.

A whole lot of
“the refs cost us the game with the fake holding call”
“94 is a joke, he was contained all day”

Hell A.J. was double and sometime triple teams almost every play today. Yet he still managed to cause some havoc!
No he wasn’t. Isu neutralized pressure with shotgun+getting rid of it w/in 2 secs, and a treat of running. Masterfully, I might add. But AJ was not doubled let alone tripled hardly at all.

Saw this approach vs Miami, will see it again

Reading CryClownfantasies right now is GLORIOUS! I mean seriously I didn't know that ISU was CLEARLY the better team (even though Iowa had to play on the road with tons of weather delays and without nearly 4 key contributors out and 1/2 of its secondary out).

ISU gots it's two scores because Matt Hankins was injured, so congrats on ISU scheming the young DB and taking advantage. Besides that ISU pretty much did nothing all game long, but ISU fans think that ISU dominated the entire game.....LOLOLOL....I am really enjoying swimming in these Clown tears!
The record shows that we had the ball for over 35 minutes of possession time.

But go ahead ISU fans and claim that you dominated the entire game.

Anyone who spends their Sunday morning hanging out at HyVee is telling you all you need to know.

It's the perfect place for Clone fans to drown in their tears and rue the morning after.

Just a typical stupid clown. Dumbest fanbase in college football! Lol A high five is worse than flipping the middle finger.

All I heard from ISU fans for months now is how they were going to beat us and this was going to be the best team Iowa State has ever had in program history. They said they have one of the best defenses in the nation, a QB who has never lost a home game, they said they have one of the best coaches in America, , Jamie Pollard was tweeting this summer that they were the big dog in the state of Iowa in football now, that they were going to win the Big 12 this year...blah, blah, blah. They had two weeks to prepare for Iowa and had the home field advantage, and the Walking Wounded Hawks went into their house and took a big giant dump on them! I hope this just eats away at Jamie Pollard, I bet he is just livid right now.

I watched a lot of the KSU/MSU game they are going to be a tough out in Manhattan. Same for Baylor in Waco. There are at least 3 or 4 more losses on that schedule.

I think they will win enough to become bowl eligible, but this idea of playing in the Big12 title game is not going to happen.

We were lucky to win that game, but ISU was lucky to even be in it. My god, if we could have converted those FGs into TDs, we would have scored in the 30's. Kudos to ISU's defense for keeping us from murdering them. And their offense was only one sustained drive and two exploitations of a backup DB. That game easily could have been 31 or 35 to 3. As I said all week, the Clowns are not in the same universe as Iowa this year. The football gods smiled on them this year and kept the ball game close, but that is not a very good football team.

Yep. Taking another at the Big12 this weekend ISU has at least another 3 or 4 losses coming.
