What would be your reaction if B Ferentz was named OC?

Heard a rumor that after the super bowl BF is interviewing for the pats oc job, if he doesn't get it, the Iowa oc job is the back up plan. Makes sense

i believe that their late coaching hire (josh mcdaniels) for the post-season pretty much has the pats oc job already.

I wouldn't mind it so much. He knows the Iowa offense plus has been a part of one of the best in the NFL. The only problem is if it goes bad. It's kinda like why Theo didn't hire Ryno to manage the Cubs. If Kirk was that loyal to KOK, how loyal do you think he will be to his own son???

Not a fan of nepotism. It is one thing to coach your kid or teach your kid to run the family business. But this is NOT the family business.

I would be pretty shocked. I have a high opinion of Brian as far as intelligence, ability and knowledge of football is condemned. I also believe he will be our head coach one day. I just don't believe K.F or the university would go this route yet, given the potential backlash. I also think we would lose some of or position coaches, such as Campbell after a smack in the face like this. If we can't land a top of the line O.C from outside the program now, I'm all for moving Campbell up and bringing B.F in as a position coach and letting him move up from within. Also, I don't see any scenario that would make B.F a candidate for the New England O.C position or any other Nfl O.C position at this time. No matter who the new coordinators are, I will still be at Kinnick every game cheering on the Hawks!

I hate auto correct.

A) I don't think Kirk would do that
B) If he did, he would feel Brian can do a good job of it
C) I have no control over what he chooses to do, so I am not gonna get sideways regardless

Heard a couple rumors at the game today (I know, pretty reliable) about BF being the new O coordinator. I dont think there is any chance of this but if it was true what would your reaction be?

What would my reaction be? I would literally come to your house and puke on your keyboard if BF is named the new OC.

I have no problem with BF being the OC. However, I think they will promote Campbell and put BF on the staff in come other capacity.

Don't know BF but those that do say he is talented and has very good people skills. I'd welcome more youth and talent to the staff. He is destined to be a head coach some day according to those that know him. He's not going to be OC at Iowa at this stage......position coach would be good.

Some have stated they think he misses the college game and the Midwest.

But based on this post it sounds like you would be disappointed

Would like to see BF join staff in some capacity but I don't want to lose Soup which would happen. Needs to be Soup or someone with even a more impressive resume than his so he doesn't get upset and leave.

So many different options, so many rumors...hard to believe or speculate anything solid when we have no idea who is even interviewing for the positions. Only concrete lead we have is woods to DLine coach, I could even see that change as staff memebers are shifted around depending on who's moved up or brought on.

I would not be disappointed. There has been speculation of Brian helping some play calling duties with the Patriots. He obviously is familiar with the Iowa offense, and knows what his boss wants done. He's seen the offense from inside the helmet as well as through the eyes of a fan, and son.

I just don't believe Kirk would hire him for that role, given the extra scrutiny that some (not me) would apply to it.

My reaction would be... "Well that's great, it's just another pushover for Ferentz. He's not going to challenge Ferentz ways, rather he'll be a little sheep."
