What would be your reaction if B Ferentz was named OC?

My reaction would be: Kirk no longer cares, is just cashing his checks and giving his son a ride on the gravy train.

Not gonna happen...but if Kirk hired Brian that would be a monumentally stupid move.

If Brian Ferentz were named OC, I would:
#1 wonder why they named him that?
#2 wonder why they call him Brian Ferentz when his name is OC?

Seriously though, I would be fine widdit.

****** beyond belief. This isn't The University of Ferentz. I have no problem with the kid getting some experience as a position coach at Iowa but you don't go from being a position coach for 1 yr in the NFL to an OC at a major D1 program. Never, ever, ever does this happen.

Not gonna happen . Anyone heard of nepotism? Sally won't allow it in todays PC environment. Next?

Brian still needs a few more years. We know already that he is a boy wonder and a genius, but if KF is honest about taking his time, doing due diligence, and searching high and low across America..

KF should at least interview an out-of-work, yet up and commer from his old stomping grounds of Pittsburgh. The guy comes from a coaching family, believes in the pro-style play action and has experience and success in both D-1 and the NFL.

I would open my mouth and a swarm of angry flesh eating bees would fly from it. The bees would sting hundreds of people to death, feed on their dead flesh, and when they die their bodies will come to rest inside the fresh fleshless cavity they just created.

I'm not in favor of Brian Ferentz taking over the entire offense at this point in his career, but if KF thinks he's the guy, then I'd trust his judgment a heck of a lot more than Sally Mason's.

KF may not have reached Joe Paterno levels of invincibility yet, but I seriously doubt that he would put up with that level of micromanaging from a fairly unpopular university president.

I'm still laughing!!

Well done sir.

I was thinking about the answer to this. I would be curious to see what he has learned from New England and what his philosophy on offense would be. In never actually coached under his father so he may have a completely outlook upon the game the his dad and that could create an interesting dynamic.

New England is a team that values the pass (though that makes sense considering they have one of the best QB's of all time as their QB). They also seem to utilze the run game not as the main aspect of their offense but as secondary indicating that they think the run game is dying in importance. They also go for it on 4th down quite frequently (I think though I've never seen the numbers on it. He may be able to offer something interesting as OC and the more I think about it the more open I may be to it.
