What past Iowa player would MOST help this years team?

Evans or Ricky Davis. Davis wasn't an all time great, but I think his athleticism would shine under Fran. He would probably be averaging 25+ in this up tempo game. Dude was an absolute athletic freak.

Ronnie Lester and just about any 4 other guys is an NCAA tourney team.

Andre Woolridge,1 quality big and just about any 3 other guys is a bubble team.

Greg Stokes was the best Post scorer/rebounder/ defender of my lifetime. His lefty baby hook was cash money at this level.

Acie was a close second. Both could generate offense down low even while being well defended.
Both would be excellent in this system.

I would take Ryan Bowen over either Horton or Evans because he was quicker, more athletic and a better defender than either of them.

Chris Street was probably the best, most rounded PF of the bunch. And would be my #2 big choice behind Stokes in terms of a big.

With all of that said, I think this team is 1 true star ( consistent go to guy) away from being a tourney bubble team.

Give me ( in order listed by position

lester, woolridge, armstrong, Oliver

or

Stokes, earl, Horton

or

Street, Bowen, Evans, lohause

or (instant offense guys)

Marble, r. davis, k gamble, ray thompson, Joey range, chris kingsbury.

I think just about any 1 of the above players added to the current roster and this team is a bubble team or better IMO.

I'm not including players I did not watch.

I'm going to throw a name out there mainly because it hasn't been mentioned but also because what this team needs is a defensive presence in the middle.....Erik Hansen.

Good shooter from 15 feet in. Excellent defender (Big 10 DPOY) and shot blocker. Adequate rebounder. He'd help free up Mel to do his thing and could knock down the 12-15 footer if they doubled off him to Mel.

I know there are certainly a lot better players in Iowa history that would be great additions, but I think Erik Hansen definitely helps this team immensely.

Its Ronnie Lester or Acie Earl.

Lester is obviously the better of the two but you could make an argument that this team would still give up to many points with no interior defense and rebounding.

Earl could bring both of those and a true low post scoring threat.
