"We're only Minnesota..."

I"m fine with tolerating the results (overall records). Dean, you have to admit there is a level of weird dysfunction about it. I wont quit hissing about that unless I get totally tired of it. Last year was different. We can't expect kf's best years every year and I get that. It's the flat out stupid dysfunction like the Outback that is hard to tolerate. Lose to Florida badly....fine. Don't dominate the line of play in the first half, trail, and have the stupid CJ injured stuff.

Then again, I do think that in some ways we (you and I included) get more entertainment from talking about it than watching the product.

It's the same or near the same with Fran. Be a reasonable idiot about it (Fran), but stop the stupidity like no PG or having to rely on so many freshman because of terrible and I mean terrible recruiting years. Stop throwing a Roy Williams on steroids, lose with grace, not like a plugged smoke stack.
I find it funny that you like to flame the fire constantly yet you want him to tone it down. Do you feel the same for the other 95% of coaches who are constantly screaming and acting out. You must be a huge fan of Kirk's never to high or low approach.

So do you like any of Iowa's coaches or is it just those two?Since you and playmaker are so against the coaching who do you think should be the Head guy.Hopefully whoever it is you can use some manners and call them by there real name.

Grandpa are you scolding me?

In my ideal world I like the professionalism of HF, LO, TD..... If being a clown (not ISU) was a big circle they would be at opposite ends and almost touching. They are disfunctional. Being that way myself, it is easy to recognize!

No, I'm all over the board. Are you saying 95 percent of coaches are screamers? You can show emotion w/o being a screamer. Screaming once in awhile I have no problem with. Looking like an enema plus is the only thing holding it in is too much. Kirk could use some ex lax.

Thank you to the Wyatt Erp wanna be....

The biggest difference is Fleck will go after many of the same guys we do.

That one game vs Harbaugh after he's only had one recruiting class is certainly a robust sample worthy of statistical analysis. 2 out of 3 vs Reilly is also a bit of a cherry pick (and he won't last long as a result)..Might wanna check your Penn St stats too...they've beaten us three in a row...the days of playing our mirror image in JoPa are over.

I'd lay money that Minnesota beats Iowa 3 out of 5 over the next 5 years.
Lol one can fantasize..I'm curious as to why THAT gets you aroused?

--------Aaaaaaand off the deep end we go

In all seriousness though, his recruiting does almost border on racism when you actually look at where his base is....try and disagree with me....can you? He is Mr. White Middle America....."Johnny Letterjacket" is his go too in almost every instance.

Wow. This is rare air lunacy, right here. Holy smokes man.

...a phrase Fleck will never utter. Already steamrolling Ferentz on the recruiting trail. Nabbed our two recent WR targets--recruits Iowa desperately needs.

well, to my knowledge, Ferentz has not every said 'we're just iowa'. Was Iowa going after the Minny WR recruits?

Post below is lifted from elsewhere, but so dead on it needed to be stolen and shared.

-----------Lastly, thank you for losing out on so many recruits this year down the stretch as this was certainly one of the worst finishes to recruiting I can remember.

Great call captain miserable.

Having a 46th recruiting rank, 8 spots behind Iowa State, is awful. Love some of the kids we did get, and I'm sure KF will get the most out of them. But when you are a non blue blood program but go 12-1 and get a Rose Bowl berth, followed by a season with plenty of talent that came back, you absolutely must capitalize on that on the recruiting front to sustain success. No matter how anyone slices it, we did not capitalize on that opportunity. We started to, and then as we know highly rated recruits pulled their verbals. That Rose Bowl season now sits on a shelf by itself, no recruiting momentum having come from it.

--------How is it racist to heavily recruit the areas with the most ties to Iowa, where there is a lot of kids who are overlooked?

Because Ferments HATES the athlete that shows the least little bit of swagger....flat out HATES it....that is what you get with the inner city athlete...and with a very high majority of 4 and 5 star black athletes at the skill positions. And that is NOT being racist to say this ....I watch the High School highlights almost every week here in Dallas....I know what I'm talking about. Even though these might be GREAT kids and really add some much needed fire to this dead program, Ferments refuses to have any of it. He would rather try and coach up a bunch of Johnny Letterjackets from Turkey Valley or Manchester. His recruiting practices are a joke...that and his ultra stubborn ways should have gotten him fired after 2014 before he did another David Copperfield with his NAIA schedule.

Just like Jerry Jones HATED every minute of the Bill Parcell's era because he was not as involved, Ferments would HATE an Alabama type recruiting class.....he would rather coach up a bunch 2 stars and hear all the credit come his way, then he would go the the Playoffs with a bunch of can't miss recruits....his ego is WAY bigger than most of you will ever know.....he hasn't fooled me for a second.

You put Eno, Calloway, Holmes and Corrales on the team and take aways the RB recruit we get to replace Eno, the DB we get to replace Calloway, Max Cooper and Marchese and this STILL isn't close to a top 20 class.

Some of you really need to at least understand the fundamental aspects of recruiting before you spout shit that has ZERO basis in fact.

Well we are 37 right now on 247 so I'd imagine if we still had Eno, Chevin, and Gavin we'd be bumping up closer to top 25 range.

I get what you're saying that just because our class started out strong it was probably going to drop some when the big players started getting more 4/5* commits.

But again, for you to make it sound like what he said was asanine appears a little much for me, and deserved a call out.

We aren't full yet. If we get ISM, Nixon and Stone we will finish #35ish in the rankings for Rivals. Both Scout and 247 have us ahead of Rivals (that is our lowest rating). The 247 composite rating right now is #37 and like I said that will see a bump when we got those other commits.

Sorry, but Eno isn't worth hardly any more on the services than Bryant. Coralles isn't any > than ISM on the services either. Holmes is the only real bump of the 3 over a Marchese or Cooper. Yet that is still slight. To get into the #25 range we would have to have an additional 150-200 rivals points, and that isn't happening out of those 3 "upgrades" over what we signed. Strictly going on rating, it is hardly a loss at all on those 3, with only Holmes hurting.

Also I will argue we never had Calloway, it was pretty much know after he committed he started looking around instantly. He wasn't ever going to stick with Iowa.

You mean guys like Desmond King? Or Jaleel Johnson? Both of them are said to be the biggest trash talkers on the team, and you can tell they both have some swagger on the field. Reggie Spearman had tons of swagger, so tell me, why did we recruit him?

Seriously? Eno is a four star rated a 93 compared to a three star rated an 85.

Your original post included Chevin. We can argue all day about whether or not we could have kept him but I'd say that a guy that COMMITTED to Iowa was considering going there.

Gavin would have helped as well.

I could care less about Corrales.

I stand by what I said. You blew up on some guy for saying we were near a top 20 class, which we would have been if we were able to keep our original commits.

Sorry, but a slight increase in the "points" awarded for Eno, Holmes and Corrales over our current guys isn't getting the class to a top 20 class.

It isn't like we get awarded all new points that weren't there, we simply would have gotten a few extra points from going from Bryant to Eno. So 30 extra points for Eno, 30 extra for Holmes and what 15 for Corrales? That would bump the class from #42 to like #36 for Rivals. Heck I'll even give you Calloway and his 120 rivals points, we would then lose Creamers 75 rival points. So a net gains of another 45 points. That would put us at #34, still a LONG, LONG ways from anything near top 20. Heck that still leaves us 200 points short of the #20 class.
