Welsh, J. Daniels Listed as Starters on new Two-Deep

I don't think they were 'resting'. They looked wide awake on the sidelines to me, lol....And I didn't see any couches or recliners on the sidelines, so I think they were even standing up!!! KF has NEVER held anyone out if they were cleared to go..........another brilliant 'opinion' by the HN geniuses, lol! I keep wondering why I stay here, but then I'm reminded that you can't 'buy' this good of comedy.............

Well, heard on the radio on the way in this morning that KF said they could have gone on Saturday but was not game ready as missed so much practice lately. Makes sense.

When your head coach sits and rest your starting C and RG even though he said they could have played, you are absolutely underestimating your opponent. KF would have NEVER sat those two vs Wisconsin, Nebraska, or Michigan.

Imagine if we somehow put together a miracle season and that game keeps us out of the playoffs? It would be ISU 02 all over again.

Is there a rule that I don't know about where the head coach can't communicate with his coordinators during the game? Yet another awesome take from our self proclaimed genius.

Yep, ironic how Greg Davis has an offense philosophy and calls plays very similar to KOK. No Kirk or Brian Ferentz input at all. Weird!!

Doesn't make sense.
Just because you don't get it doesn't mean it doesn't make sense. What didn't make sense honestly was the post the reply was to on how you don't blame the coaches for taking North Dakota St lighter than a B1G opponent in a world of college football where every win and how you win is so important. So who do you blame then? Clear it all up for us please....

Boy, you're reading something different than me. I merely stated "makes sense" referring to KF sitting the two players due to lack of practice time. IMO, Saturday's debacle is completely on the coaches. Unprepared and horrible play calling. The coaches #1 job is to put the players in the best position to succeed. After that, it's up to the players to make the plays. The coaches DID NOT put the players in the best position to succeed last Saturday.

Those crazy Canadians. They have a kick-ass National Anthem, though, and walleye!

You mean a national anthem not about war and fighting can be good...why I never would have been able to think such a thing :) I remember when Grassly tried to get America The Beautiful changed to our national anthem and he got laughed at. Oh well no politics. Probably facing a ban now for hijacking this post :)

JJ Abrams did a hell of a national anthem reboot.

Kinda like when CJ missed all those practices last year and he wasn't game ready.

My thought exactly. KF last year tells us thaT CJ misses the whole week of practice leading up to the Northwestern game, but miracle of miricales he is able to play on Saturday. This year vs NDSU for some reason 2 starters aren't able to play becuase they "missed practice"

This staff totally overlooked NDSU, and were outcoached as well. It is no wonder we lost. Heck the players still almost pulled in out even though this coaching staff totally whiffed in every way, shape, and manner leading up to and during this game.

I'd have more respect if Ferentz just came out and said, "You know, we were just trying to rest the guys this game in preparation of the BIG season. In retrospect it wasn't a good call on our part but, THAT'S FOOTBALL.".

I think if Daniels and Welsh played it could have risked prolonging their full recovery. I would prefer they be healthy for the rest of the season. But that's just me. You don't risk doing more damage to your season just for one game. That would be stupid. They need those two lineman because Welsh is by far the best and Daniels may already be the second best.

That's the risk and that's not why I'm mad at the decision. You have to weigh risk reward. You have to assume we can win without them. Turns out it didn't work out but that's the risk you take.

Message board people are truly a special and rare breed. I have the same conversations with 10 people a day about this stuff, and they 'respect' what I tell them and I rarely have anyone argue and resort to childishness. You people know NOTHING about football, seriously, NOTHING. The sad part is you never will, because you THINK you do.

No, they don't say anything back for 2 reasons: 1) You are standing right in front of them so there is no anonymity like on a message board, so they probably don't tell you what they are really thinking. 2) I get the impression you are an individual who has to be right all the time, so if there is a differing opinion, there is a confrontation, so in their eyes it's not worth it and probably best to agree with you and get out of there.

You kind of come off as demanding respect from people or that people have to agree with you, and if they don't, it's a problem or the person doesn't know what they are talking about.

You are "message board people". Nothing more, despite what the guys at the coffee shop tell ya.

Everyone knows someone in their life where it's better to just nod your head and agree rather than make the conversation last longer.
