SIAP:

Looks like BW is back on the field. After a long journey, he's finally made a stop and began practice at Morningside.

I wish him luck. Certainly would have liked to see him in black and gold; but the lure of the lady is a bit too much for some.

Brandon Wegher to play for Morningside

Wow seems like his freshman yr was so long ago. I woulda thought he was out of eligibility. They have 5 yrs to play 4 so this would have to be it for him I would think. Hope he has fun just playing the game. Sounded like he had a ton of things stressing him out. Hope he can get a degree has his life together and just play the game for the love of it.

Yeah, that's kinda what I was thinking. 2009 was his first year so this would indeed be it for him unless he could get some sort of waiver. Somehow Morningside has him listed as only a sophomore though.

Morningside is NAIA so the NCAA rules do not apply. It works the same for all athletes that move from D1 down. Eric Thompson did the same thing at Grand View for wrestling.

That said, his career in the NCAA is over thanks to the 5 to play 4 rule. So he is not Iowa State bound or any NCAA school bound.

I thought I heard he had 2 years to play there. Must be the rules difference.

The way I understand it is that they have 5 years to play 4 starting from the 1st yr they enroll. Weather they redshirt out the gate or not. I know that for medical reasons that's been bent more then a few times. (Jess Settles) If there is more to it then that I'm not sure

What was that awful Center that Lick brought in years ago.. Ryan something I think??? Ended up playing at grandview.. he was the tenth man there and was GOOOOOODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD awful

Well lets see.. using up eligibility and going to an NAIA school... oh wait you're right nothing... my bad

This thread is about the Wegher bomb -- a FOOTBALL player recruited by Ken O'Keefe, not Todd Lackluster -- and somehow I doubt at Morningside he is going to be "GOOOOOODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD awful."

Glad this is my 6,000 post... stop being mad bro

What, do you stop and take a smartphone picture every time all the odometer numbers line up (11,111 ... 22,222 ... 33,333 and so on)?

I do.. follow me on twitter.. Also sorry to compare you're alma matta to Grandview. my bad

This isn't the first ex division 1 player morningside has found a way to get eligible in football. I played baseball at morningside and saw it with a wr that they had for one year. I would be surprised if wegher makes it through this year of school.
