All that story says is that Rhoads went onto the field to "emphatically voice his displeasure". Fran does that all the time, and that's EXACTLY what Ferentz was set to do before he was pulled back.

You get it. We're Iowa fans and we like to make fun of Iowa State because they are our rivals (most of the comments are just done to troll some of the ****** posters and some are done just for laughs) your "I'm a good Iowa fan who respects Iowa State" kick you're on lately is weird.
This is pathetic. You should spend more time on CF, add to your thousands of posts.
Why do you feel the need to come here to defend their program and coaches when you could just join in the circle jerk led by Whoads and Pollard over there?

Let's get back to the thread at hand. I believe they were discussing a significant ISU athletic booster who more than likely will be sitting at center court on the floor tomorrow night. He had a minor melt down in a game a year ago that required police assistance.
If you care to discuss how out of control KF and Fran are on the sidelines I'm sure it will be well received at CyFan.

This happened well after the game as Self was heading to the locker room. Notice how few fans are still in the stands. Frankly, I was surprised to see Self stay on the floor that long. He had just won a game that went into OT on a very controversial call. And one of his players dunked with no time left and the game already decided in OT. Fans had been throwing things on the court.
I suspect that Self was already jawing some with this fan. He is on court-side, not in the tunnel entrance. Self said something in an interview about not feeling threatened because the fan was just mouthing off, but also said something about thinking he could take him if needed. He was pretty cool about it.
At any rate, Fran should probably steer clear of the courtside on the right as he leaves the floor.

I've been to plenty of rivalry games, football and basketball in both Ames and Iowa City.
It's no myth, nor is it "black and gold" perspective: ISU is much worse, the fans much more bush-league. That's why I will never attend a game in Ames again.
A guy trying something like that in Iowa City would find himself being escorted out of the arena by security in a heartbeat...probably before it got to this point. (I've seen it happen)
The old bumper sticker says it best: Culture vs Agriculture. Simple, yes. But a pretty good way of capturing the difference between Ames and Iowa City. (no offense to hard-working farmers)

weird, cause i have a few ISU friends who say they have the most polite and friendly fans in the world, and that the Hawk fans are the worst. and they actually say that with a straight face.

I'm not sure this is even enough. It is Ames, after all, one of the worst small cities on the planet. The Ames PD makes the Keystone Cops look like the NYPD anti- terrorism task force. The Iowa team bus would be more secure in Trenton, N.J.

You can continue to defend the clowns all you want. I've seen Iowa coaches get upset and voice their opinions and I have no problem with that. With that, I've never seen an Iowa coach look like a baby on their sidelines because he doesn't get a call. I haven't seen Ferentz down on his hands and knees during a game, and I've never heard of Ferentz's father having to come onto the field to restrain him. I also can't recall a time Ferentz was warned because of his behavior during a post game conference.
Brands isn't known for doing anything close to what Rhoads does either. Brands is known for being extremely intense but nothing that compares to Rhoads.
