I'm somewhat surprised they did not land 22-25, but they certainly have more than enough time to prove they belong....and they will get to show that in a hurry if they belong or not. With the program being down so long, apparently voters still want to see more evidence.

In modern college BB, having the best FR class, like Kentucky does, puts you in serious contention for the national title. Just goes to show how the quality of play in general is very low in the sport.

Looking at the potential first two B4A matchups:

Tennessee - 30th
UTEP - unranked​

Xavier - unranked

The other teams are:

Kansas - 6
Villanova - 39t
USC - unranked
Wake Forest - unranked​

The Hawks need to win the first one, beat Tennessee, and stay close with Kansas. Do that and Iowa will move up. BEAT Kansas and it will be move up real fast.

Preseason polls are a better indicator of NCAA tournament success than the final regular season polls.
