First and foremost, I do not condone wife abuse or domestic assault. But, why is Urban Meyer on the hook for Zach Smith's domestic assault issue? Is it some kind of Ohio State "Zero tolerance" policy or similar that could get him fired. If is, does this policy apply to coaches like the players?
Aren't Zach's actions/responsibilities for the football program different than his actions in his private life? Why is Urban paying for what Smith did in his private life? I mean, what if Urban did know, which I think he did? What does it matter? Is Urban required to get involved in this personal life issue if doesn't have anything to do with Smith's job as an assistant coach?
To me, they are two separate things, private life vs football. Why is Urban on the hook for Smith's private life mishaps, even though Urban knew about it or lied?
If I had a domestic assault incidence, I don't see my boss getting fired over it. It's a private matter. Would your boss be fired over your domestic assault, even if they knew about it and didn't do anything.
Why was Urban mandated to address this private matter and do something about it, if may not have had an affect on the football team? I don't get it. Anybody else seeing my point? This just bugs me for some reason. To me, this is a private issue with Zach Smith and his ex-wife. I must be missing something.
