UNI Hosed With a 9 Seed vs UNLV

thank god they won that tournament, they wouldn't of come back against Drake they probably wouldn't be in! U can't hate the UNLV draw, just the hose draw in KU second round, where they playing at anyways?

Other #9 seeds = Wake Forest, Florida State, and Louisville.

#8 seeds = UNLV, Gonzaga, Texas, and Cal

Honestly, I don't think that UNI would beat any of those teams on a neutral floor.

UNI was seeded as a 9 because the Mo Valley conference was way, way down this season. It's as simple as that. Perhaps they were seeded 1 or 2 spots too low, but there's no way that the Panthers were a 5 seed.

I don't think they got hosed at all. When you're a mid-major, you have to have at least one "signature" win that gets people talking. All of their wins were just sort of "ho-hum". They went about their business and that was about it.

Contrast that with Drake a couple of years ago. They had a thrilling victory over Butler, at Butler, on national television. Combine that with their 30 point victory in the MVC Championship and you have the roadmap for a #5 side.

And as much as they'd say it doesn't matter, I think style of play comes into account for the committee....especially for mid-major teams. If you have a team that runs up and down the court for 40 minutes, presses......and just generates overall excitement, I think those teams end up with higher seeds....rightly or wrongly.

UNI finished the year just outside the top 25....that would put them in the 6-7 seed range....however they end up a 9.....I think the MVC tourney finishing up a week before hurts them.

didn't get hosed no signature wins...what an upset that would be if they beat kansas! that would get the state of iowa going

ACC got six? SIX?! That's ridiculous. Hate to see how many entries they get with a good league.

I agree with others: there are people that really don't like UNI or the MoValley.
