too bad. again for the third time, he let his teammates down. I am so sick of the shelfish mandality of todays players, who only think ooof themselves first. instead of taking responsibilty for what he did, and learning, and growing from it. he acts like school yard boy who doesn't get his way. "i am going to take my ball and leave" tantrum.

This is a GOOD thing for all parties.

Tucker tries to get his mother involved in 'pleading his case' about playing time, and things not working how he wants.

Wake up and smell the roses: your child brought it ALL upon himself. Period.

I hope, for his OWN life, he gets things figured out. The drinking part is more important than the basketball.

Life begins now for AT.

Did he learn 'the lesson' or will he fail when given another 'shot'?

Good luck.

I am actually defending Lickliter for once.

Savor the flavor because it is not going to happen very much in the next month.

A cancer? Really? Care to ask Matt Gatens about that? What most of you clowns fail to realize is that the four kids that left last year and Tucker are all well liked by the current team.

Just wait in a few weeks when more players announce they are leaving Iowa. I'm sure it will have nothing to do with Coach Lickliter:rolleyes:

Really? You talked to all of the players and know this for a fact? I doubt this very much.

I'm trying to not make too much of the fact that Tucker's mother apparently got involved in the discussions with TL and the decision for Anthony to leave. I would imagine this has been a trying time for everyone in the Tucker family. But it does raise the question for me of how much AT's been allowed to grow up and whether that has contributed to his experiences in Iowa City.

Good for him that he's moving on. Hopefully new scenery will allow him to get a fresh start.

Someone will give him a chance to make their team. I doubt it will be a D1 team. I think this is good for the Hawks. Frees up a scholarship.

I can't wait to see who voted for what. If you really understand the situation, you know that this is good for BOTH parties.

bad for Tucker if Lick was ever going to play him ... however if Lick was just going to keep teasing Tucker by letting him dress and not playing him, then its good for Tucker to get out of that situation

bad for Iowa as we lose talent again, regardless if the guy was a alcoholic or whatever ... even if it is addition by subtraction, it's still another blackeye for the program

I don't agree. I think this situation was handled all wrong. He should have been kicked off the team right away or let him do his time and then let him play. Don't make him jump through hoop after hoop until he just says hell with it. The worse part is now I have to see JL on the floor for the rest of the season.

What you really mean is if we agree with you we are smart and if we don't we can't possible have a brain in our head...

I don't see how losing your best shooter and only real pg backup can be good for Iowa. You are assuming we are going to get some great PG with that schollie. TL has yet to prove he can recruit a great player at any position....

May could be great, have to wait and see.

I think Tucker could have contributed to the team, maybe not as a starter. As somebody stated earlier he was a double digit scorer so I think it hurts Iowa to lose him. I also think its Tucker's loss because he will end up playing for a mid major school and lost out on a chance to play in a major conference.

Besides the fact that he's no longer on the team, we shouldn't even bother calling Tucker our best shooter. It's true, but what good does it do to say our best shooter is still on the roster when he's never eligible to play in meaningful games? A bullet (Tucker) is only good if it's in the gun. And Tucker was too busy finding other ways to get loaded to be useful to the team.

if the past few years are any indication I'd quit school and try to catch on with a pro team in a county that is more tolerent to public drunkeness.

You make some valid points.
