Trey Dickerson commits to Iowa

I hope it doesn't happen but this mixed with clemmons lack of playing time this yr could mean ac will be leaving.

Not trolls, they are idiots. This is a great pick up and hopefully his buddy Atwood will sign on also.

It is both. This site is so loaded with trolls it's as if it were ran from under a bridge.

Very solid recruit with a lot of high major intetest. Couldn't be happier!

This really is a surprise based on the attention he has been getting as his season went on, and Iowa's end of season skid. Dickerson has proved on the court in JC that he earns a Big scholarship. I like that.

He will play a lot right away. WE NEED HIS SCORING! I like Gessel but I don't think he is the player we thought he would be....yet. There will definitely be time and a role for Clemmons too.

I'll do you a favor

Thanks, Jon, it is really hard to believe the negative posts by Hawkeye fans when whe get a solid recruit whom many quality programs were interested in, and people constantly complain about the poor or lack of recruiting. Not exactly the way to attract good recruits, by making nasty comments about them.....

Welcome aboard, Trey, we need you and you will like it here, we need more speed and you are the ticket.....

Those who know and understand basketball know you are a good one who will fit into Fran's style quite nicely.....

Wow, what a waste of space within a thread. I feel dumber for having read all of this. THANK YOU FOR BLOCKING THAT GUY JON. If people choose to not follow recruiting, they may want to do some research before spewing verbal diarrhea everywhere.

This kid will be very good. Super competitive. I believe he will stay committed. He came from NY and went to CA and Juco. Well traveled, and not homesick. Seems like a good kid. He took the time to find a fan that tweeted him last night and go sign an autograph during the game.

#10 overall Juco kid is the lowest rating on Trey. I have a feeling a few more offers were still to come, but trey has been very excited about playing for Iowa for a long time. Andrew Francis is a big part of this.

One thing that puzzles me about him is, how in the hell does someone have time to Tweet 47,000 times and still have time to play basketball and do school work?

The thing that has botheres me a little is this: even among those of us that follow recruiting, Trey is being thought of as a consolation prize. "Hope he brings Atwood" comes up a lot. I think Trey will be as important to our game next year as Gesell is this year. TD will probably back up MG, and MG can also slide to the 2 at times. I hope we get Atwood too, but TD will help us tremendously from day 1.

Question: How do you feel about our offense all around when Sapp comes in to play PG? Especially with RDM and Mike on the bench?

My answer: NOT GOOD.

TD should allow us to not have a PG drop off like we do now. He may actually be a bit quicker than MG. I am so happy with Trey joining the team. At this point I actually feel that we may end up With a better record next year than we do this year.

Oh yeah, I hope he brings Willie Atwood with him.

Really surprised by this but is great news! Sorta confirms the rumor he was sold on us for awhile. Hopefully..... this means good news w/ Atwood.

I will feel a lot better when he gets in the Iowa uniform and on the court. As Hubbard taught us...no such thing as a sure thing until the games start. Especially since as others said, the "vultures" will continue to circle.

there have been a number of problems with the offense this year (the same ones as last year, actually), and dickerson's speed will not make him a savior, but it's one more piece of the puzzle

atwood isn't the answer inside -- but he could replace what mel brings, plus a jumper and a decent handle

I'll be very happy if we get atwood -- because we need both those guys to stay where we are the in B1G

we will have the same scoring droughts next year that we had this year and last. the book on us is simple: get back to take away the break, and zone, zone, zone. the curl-and-cut that is the best way for the talent on the roster at 2 and 3 to get their shots off gets taken away by a good zone, our bigs aren't quite skilled to make a high post flash to the seam (how that goon from wisky killed us in the 2nd half) the main way to attack, we seem to lack the ball movement to attack the short corner or throw over the defense (surely it's worked on in practice...it may be the skill level of the kids), and we don't have a slasher threat or a consistent outside shooter to attack it off the wing.

dickerson will help if he can break guys down off the dribble to drive and kick. what is really needed are big steps forward to jok and utoff (white is not going to get much better: if you take away his back door and putback game, then all that's left is him trying to get to the line or his mediocre (for this level) jump shot.

I thought this was a 9-9, maybe 10-8 team when we all made predictions in the fall, and next year will be the same. those expectations need not rise until fran can pull in top-tier B1G talent.

we really need boudreaux and hutton/toye to commit for 2015. that's the kind of talent....
