Tracking 2015 Class Offers

Preferred walk on. I'm sorry, but our recruiting is just pathetic. We will likely start Perry, Bower, and Jewell at LB next year. There is simply no talent there, and we still can't land a top flight recruit that could come in and start immediately. Can't blame the recruits though, what reason is there to come and play for this stale, boring coaching staff and program?

I think Outsey will have one of those linebacker spots.

From the Ross article on Rivals:"Q: How much did the Iowa coaches help in your decision?ROSS: When I started the process, I was going into my sophomore year. Coach Reid wasn't there yet but I got to know Coach Woods. I caught his eye and impressed him at that camp. He invited me to his camp and I did well there. The next year Coach Reid was on staff and we got to know each other. We spent hours in his office after games talking and watching film. Coach Morgan has also been awesome. I think you can ask all the people of the world if they have anything bad to say about him and it wouldn't be a very long list. They are a bunch of great guys and I am excited to play for them." So a LB from Iowa is crediting the LB coaches more than Reese Morgan, who has been the primary in-state recruiter for the last 13 years.

That may be, but when you're looking at recruiting websites the coach they list is the coach responsible for that region which is what we were talking about before you starting launching the insults.
The point is that the LB coaches play a key role in bringing LBs into the program. You disagreed, and have been proven wrong. Deal with it. I'm sure it's not the first time for you.

So the kid didn't give a *uck who his position coach was. Woods, Reid, whoever. You have actually proven his point, and it is funny that you can't see that.

Lol...What did you prove? How about Coach White getting Miles Taylor, a safety from the east coast to flip to Iowa. White coaches special teams and running backs. And what's with all the insults? If you're gonna hate...then just spectate:cool:

Read it again, genius. He mentions Woods and Reid four times. Talk about being dense.

So Taylor didn't talk to anyone other than Chris White, huh? Got a link for that? Otherwise, take your own advice and shut your pie-hole.

Exactly. He mentioned a guy who isn't even with the Hawks any longer numerous time. He could care less who his LB coach is.
They're both still here numbskull. Do you even follow the program? He mentions both of his future position coaches, but you don't think he cares about them. You look pretty dumb right now. Like Hawknick level dumb.

Here's your link: http://iowa.247sports.com/Article/Update-Miles-Taylor-talks-Iowa-173662

"Taylor had been committed to Georgia Tech since March 12th of 2013, but he remained an Iowa target throughout the summer and into 2014. Iowa running backs coach, Chris White, who was Taylor's primary recruiter, visited Taylor in May of 2013 and once again in December.
His hard work payed off this weekend.
Iowa was able to secure an official visit from Taylor this past weekend, even though he had previously said he wouldn't be going to Iowa City. Eventually the veil of secrecy was lifted though, and Taylor publicly announced on Twitter that he was committed to Iowa"

Nobody here is saying the player doesn't talk to other coaches as well, especially on the visit. Your refusal to believe that any of the coaches could possibly recruit a kid out of the position they coach is what people are refuting. It happens dude. It's not really anything to get that worked up about either. We're just here to talk football and recruiting.

Dam* it. What a freaking brain fart.......now I have to let this lie because of my dumb azz mistake even though you are clearly wrong on this position coach thing. Nobody is saying position coaches don't factor into recruits decision. But many things factor in, like the academics of the school, the conference they are in, the head coach, the head recruiter, the campus, etc. It is just one part of their whole decision, not the ONLY factor like you are making it seem.

The bad news just keeps on coming. Looks like 2 players Iowa was trying to flip are going to stay committed to where they were verbaled to play. Booker is gonna stay with Wisconsin and Neal with Nebraska. This class is gonna finish with a whimper, and not a bang.

This is the kind of stuff that really hurts the team. There is a big difference between the last 4-6 kids signing that are your fallbacks to your fallbacks to your fallbacks. Now instead of bringing in kids that could be special team players as RS Fr., now you have kids that might not contribute at all, or take 3-4 years to do so. That is why Iowa football is where it is, and why the 2 deeps look like they do.

We are stuck with KF for the time being so hopefully the new facilities and recruiting coordinator need to put a stop to this, or we will continue to be a 6 win team.

Pretty funny stuff here, Iowa's recruiting map. Courtesy of BHGP via twitter:

Just looking over the fence at our neighbor's approach. Nothing really new but anymore I've reached the stage of finding humor in such contrasts......................

By the way, I see two of our "finalists" are visiting our competition this coming weekend.......not normally a good thing considering it is their last stop.

Whalen to WI and Ojemudia to IN. Probably not that critical since they're both projected at LB ;)
