Tracking 2012 Class Offers

I saw a few tweets stating that Smith was to talk with Lester Erb tonight at 7pm and that was when he was going to know if we offered him or not. Haven't seen anything since however.

Saw the same thing...hopefully he got the offer and is waiting till today to announce!

So Jaleel Johnson had a tweet on the 17th that reads "University of Iowa". He only has 29 tweets and no other school has been talked about on there...def interesting!!

Malik Golden has us in top 3
Gerald Thomas top 2 (TCU drop out?)

Dexter: yeah I realized that a little late !

Hoke is killing it up in Michigan. How many open scholarships do they have up there?

If Michigan pulls kalis and diamond this is going to be a highly rated recruiting class for them.

Here's a breakdown of their class so far (17 commits):

9 4*
8 3*

PER TOS

3 OT-- so adding Kalis and Diamond would be an entire OLine ( they also have offers to the 2, 4 5 8 and 9 rated OT) crazy the interest they can get
1 OG
3 DE
2 CB
1 S
1 DT
4 LB
2 TE

Iowa offered 7 of their commits.

I'm going to lay out my predictions for the next 15 commits. Feel free to laugh and judge.

OT- Pirsig and Ward
OG- None
C- None
QB- None- or someone we have not yet heard of
RB- Garmon and Smith
WR- Darboh Shepard and Golden
TE- Johnson

DL- Johnson (DT) and Winston (DE)
LB- 2 we have not yet heard of
CB- Payne ( I think a current commit lands here)
S- Lile (could be a LB) and Morgan

If we get your RB, WR, and TE list I will be completely satisfied!

After trying to scrounge up some info on Dean Tsopanides I found almost nothing about him. I did however come across a few names I haven't seen mentioned yet.

Three players mentioned as receiving interest from Iowa (no offers yet) in KOK's neck of the woods.

That Cochran kid is a pretty good QB. Needs to work under center more to be better in the back pedal but has good accuracy and great pocket presence. Reads very well for his age.
He likely would enjoy playing behind an Iowa line that watches out for the QB a little more than his HS team.

Just to update where Iowa stands with some top recruits:

- Iowa is one of five finalists for MA receiver Canaan Severin (4* Rivals, 3* ESPN) along with Penn St, Boston College, Virginia, and Uconn.

- Jaleel Johnson, MI DT (4* Rivals, 4* ESPN) is down to Iowa and Michigan St. Rumor has it Johnson will commit to Iowa on Tuesday the 5th.

- Iowa is considered by many to be the leader for Gerald Thomas, WR from TX (3* Rivals, 3* ESPN). Thomas has an official top two of Iowa and Arizona.

- Iowa is in the top 4 for MN TE Will Johnson (3* Rivals, 3* ESPN), who has been blowing up this summer. Iowa joins Auburn, Minnesota, and Ole Miss in Johnson's top 4.

- Alex Kozan, OL from CO, (4* Rivals, 4* ESPN) has named Iowa the only "lock" for his top seven, so interpret that as you will. Kozan boasts offers from the likes of Arizona, Arkansas, LSU, Oklahoma St, Oregon, and many others.
