Too soon? Iowa Bowl Projection

How about an Iowa/Iowa St rematch to see if we can't get paybacks for that fumble on the 3 inch line, that would be a fun game, therefore, it won't happen............
Absolutely won't happen.
Not with the demand for aluminum where it is.
It's soo expensive right now, supply has a tough time keeping up. Every manufacturer is elbowing their way just for material. Add in the tariffs....
No way a city hosts that game knowing AB wouldn't be able to deliver the necessary quantities of canned Busch Light.
It would get ugly.
The last thing any city needs right now is civil unrest.

In spite of your well thought out arguments, I still think it would be a fun game...

I take back my Iowa St/Iowa game wish. I just checked Iowa St's schedule, they are 4-6 now, and see they finish the season at TCU. I don't think the Clones will be bowling this year.

247 has Iowa playing NC State in the Duke Mayo Bowl.

They are also projecting Purdue in the Citrus Bowl against Ole Miss (Yikes) and Illinois in the Music City bowl against South Carolina.

Pinstripe has Minnesota, Guaranteed Rate has Wisconsin, and Michigan State in the Quick Lane (haha).

They are going to be bowls that will not be able to fill their slots and a 5-7 Iowa St. team will be a #1 pick on the board to fill it. They beat TTech next week, there is a decent chance they go bowling.

It's going to be close this year, hell UConn just became bowl eligible. There are now 65 teams bowl eligible with 86 spots to fill. There are another 20 teams that sit with 5 wins, only needing 1 more, and another 17 teams sitting at 4 wins needing to win their last 2 games. Army is at 3 wins with UConn, UMass, and Navy left on their schedule so it's still possible for them to hit 6 as well.

Are you telling me there are bowl slots for 86 of 130 FBS teams? Egads.

There is a pecking order for those 5-7 teams getting into bowl games. It's based on graduation rates. Not sure how it's figured but I remember B1G have fared well with it. No idea how ISU stacks up.

REALLY want the Reliaquest since I'll be there regardless. I know that would require Iowa to win out and get a little help.

Vengeance for ‘88 Peach and ‘92 Kickoff Classic!

Oops, there are "only" 41 bowl games, so 82 spots to fill. Not sure there will be a bowl game available for Iowa State.

SI is projecting Iowa to face Louisville in the Pinstripe Bowl. Gross!

I wouldn't rule out the Rose Bowl just yet. For that to happen we just need to win our next three and have Illinois lose at Michigan. Imagine if Stroud got his ankle rolled on the first play or some shit and we beat Ohio 10-9. There would be like 50 people at the Rose Bowl.

That's the spirit! Yeah, Iowa is still technically in play for the Rose Bowl.

Holy shit, could you imagine? I mean if Iowa did somehow upset Michigan or OSU there would be plenty of Hawk fans buying up tickets. That would mean extensions for the entire coaching staff I'm sure.
