Too soon? Iowa Bowl Projection

I honestly don't see six wins on the schedule.
The Great Stay at Home bowl
There are exactly 3 potential games to get to 6 W’s.
NW, Wisc, Neb. The D is very capable of scoring on them / shutting them down and the O could kick in 7-10 points to eek out the W.
Pud-ue and Goofs are absolute losses.

Plus, isnt there some clause that Ferentzes get $250k for going 3-2 down the stretch? Extra motivation from Gary!

I can’t see any reason to want to go to a bowl game. To celebrate this season with a loss? I mean, we all knew OSU was gonna be a shit show, but damn, this was really bad! Exceeded my expectations of bad, to be honest. And thats just……well, bad…….

Bump. There’s a shot now! I’ll take anything!
Yup, Iowa needs 1 more win and plays

Wisc
@Minn
Neb

There currently is a logjam between Iowa, Wisc, Minn, Purdue and MD.

My guess is the winner of Iowa/wisc ends up in the Arizona Bowl, whatever it's called now.

MD - Duke's Mayo
Pur - Music
Iowa - Arizona
Minn - Pinstripe
Wisc - Detroit

Of course maybe I should wait for the MSU-ILL game to be over before I post this, but oh well.

A bowl game would be rewarded with us having to deal with Boy wonder for more time. I wish Iowa would lose out, itd do less long term damage.

I know you guys would cringe, but I'd take the Reliaquest since I'll be there anyway watching my daughters dance at halftime.

I'll take any bowl game. If there is one thing we know Kirk learned the hard way early in his career....
It is the importance of preparing your team for a bowl game, and the value of that extended season on player development.

That's a myth. Bowl practice has no effect on the team's record the following year. Don't believe me? Look up Iowa's record the year after they miss a bowl compared to the record they had the year before when they missed a bowl. Iowa's record always gets better the year after they miss a bowl.

The extra practices does help player development. Every coach wants the extra practices so it must help.

Coaches can say what they want but there is no statistical proof that it's true. If there was really any proof the extra practices help, you would have to give the extra practices to non-bowl teams too othewise its a clear competative advantage.

Yes or No, do practices help players get better?

Yah, no claims on how the they impact a record the following year. You have a lot of teams that go to bowls. And, there's so much roster turnover year to year

All's I know is that it absolutely has to have an impact on some of the younger players.
