Time running out for Fran?

Pretty obvious preseason was fools gold. Here’s to hoping Iowa can get to more than 15 wins this year. Hard to put my finger on it, but this team just doesn’t have it. This would appear to be more of the same.
 
Of course not! Don't you know he has two kids that might someday maybe be slightly above average as seniors?
 
I really hope not, but perhaps they peaked in November....or UConn and Oregon must really suck bad. Or the Big Ten is that good.

In any event, this team, at this point, really does not look that much different from last year. But, Sparty is pretty damn tough at home. I could stomach this more if they would have pulled out the Wisconsin game, but they did not.

Things not looking as good as last month for sure.
 
Was very hard to watch, as usual at Breslin center. Will someone tell me why a referee has to stand next to Izzo for the entire game so he can whisper sweet nothings into their ears? Can't they simply walk further away from him as they do to Fran? Are they required to report into Izzo and literally let him rant at them for the whole game. I'm so damm sick and tired of watching him work them every game and they listen, often talking with him when they are supposed to be watching the game. The refs can literally go anywhere on the court, but they always stand next to Izzo, it makes me sick.

Blow out visiting final four caliber team ...
I expected this kinda score (not this anemic)

Loss to sweet 16 caliber team at home ....
that’s the disappointing one

It’s kind of the same as McCaffery. Sure he’s probably our best guy at handling the ball and initiating the offense, but that doesn’t make him a quality B1G point guard.

(I would say Weiskamp is going to be a good one once he settles in.
 
When your team is loaded with Juniors who are 3rd year starters...and the most encouraging part of the squad is a white kid from Muscatine, Iowa...well

(that's NOT...a bash of Weiskamp, the kid is a player. He fell into Fran's lap)
 
I didn't watch the game, but I took a peek at the box score. Lemme guess..

Frantic offense and a lot of shots just jacked up out of rhythm. More turn overs than our opponent. Outrebounded.

Most schools have players like Wieskamp, or better, fall into their laps every year. Iowa gets one every 15- 20 years. And when they do, people on here act like Fran is so fortunate.

No.

Msu defense smothered iowa. And iowa couldnt do anything from stopping msu forwards from scoring in paint.

Foul trouble between garza, kreiner, mccaffery didn't help.
