This Is Going To Be A Wild And Crazy Week

The conference tournament will determine who will get in the NCAA tourney for some teams and seeding. Iowa needs to beat Nebraska and win 1 conf tourney game.
I think we already punched our ticket for the dance. Seeding remains the big question

AND win one conference tourney game?

Let's go with your scenario and say we beat Nebraska and lose first round conference tournament game and don't get a bid.. I would love to hear the explanation for that one. We would be tied for second in an overrated, but still tough conference. Eight quad 1 wins (or is it nine) NET around mid 30's. Respectable non con schedule. Every bracketologist out there has us safely in as a seven or eight seed. There's teams out there with only two or three quad 1 wins who are considered on the safe side of the bubble. Iowa State is in free fall and considered safely in.

Again, 12-8 in a power conference. Not trying to start a war here, just wondering how a thought like that would even enter your process. We've been a virtual lock, with impressive Quad 1 wins, since Illinois a month ago. If people "don't want to get their hopes up because Fran might crush their hearts with another early exit," they shouldn't follow the sport.

If we lose we can still get as high as a 3 seed with a MSU, Maryland, and Northwestern loss.

Think of what Rutgers feels like punching right about now. They would be in a seven way tie for second, with a winnable home on Sunday remaining. Instead they're alone in ninth place, albeit still with a NET about the same as Iowa's

News Flash: We have been headed for the Dance for quite a while. We could lose to Nebbie, which we will not, and lose the first game in the BT tournament, which we will not, and still get in. Our record in the regular season conference games is irrelevant, at this late stage. However: Dance seeding is a big deal. Lots of variables. Just win.

I just looked at espn bracketology, and they have 10 B1G in. With Michigan as one of the first teams out. I ain't buying it. At best, we get 8 teams in. They also have IA ST as a 6 seed! Moving up, no less. Iowa is a 7 seed, but we win at Neb and I think we move up a spot. Who knows until the actual is out.

Some of these posts are eye rolls. We are in, gents. We punched our ticket with the MSU comeback. Had we lost that game and then lost the next three, we would be on the bubble. (Losing the last six and being 9-11 in conference. Shaky). Once we beat MSU we were in and it has been all about seeding. I see us somewhere from 5-9 depending upon the next 2-4 games.

It seems like the conference always gets a team less than projected in every year.

Michigan is in trouble if they lose to Indiana. Their NET is only around 55. There are teams in the high 40's who are considered bubble teams.

I (jokingly) suspected that @Hawk1961 was on drugs when he went on and on about how Iowa isn't good, isn't tough, isn't tournament worthy when we were losing to Northwestern and Wisconsin.

Days later, when we showed how good and tough and tournament worthy we are, this forum didn't hear a peep out of him.

Figures:)
