The funny thing about KOK leaving is...

I don't think people are going to miss KOK much. It isn't like he was one of the top offensive coordinators year in year out. Hope he likes his new gig...Personally I doubt he is on the Dolphins' staff three years from now.

Kok was such a great qb coach he is now a wr coach an old coach that helped him out threw kok a bone period.

The debate about how good (or bad) of a football mind KOK is will go on... that's what forums like this are all about. However, not knowing how much autonomy he was given by KF (and none of us REALLY know), makes it all conjecture.

My gut feeling is that if he was given free reign on how to run the offense, we would have seen more of what we saw in the 2nd half of the Pitt game. Although it worked in that game, who knows how it would have worked against other, better teams? It would have been exciting to see, though.

The bottom line is that it really doesn't matter at this point. He was a Hawkeye for 13 years, and I wish him good luck in the NFL.

Again name the B10 teams that have had better qb play than Iowa over the last 10-12 years.

Do you have an old coach that could throw you a bone?

So in your opinion Philbin is more interested in old cronyism than he is in being successful at his first NFL head coaching job?

My points that anyone who thinks this is a promotion is stone nuts. I'm not saying kok can't be a good wr coach, so no Philbin isn't just hiring a worthless friend. He is hiring a failed OC to handle a simpler job who is a freind.

What is with all of this nostalgic KOK love. Yeah, he's going to the NFL. Apparenlty his employers didn't look at his last 5 years of work. I wish him luck and thank him for his time, but don't come one here and claim you always liked his work and it was great.

Too many want to compare Norm's squad statistics to KOK's squad statistics and erroneously conclude Norm was a better coach.

Since a strong defense and a conservative offense is Ferentz's preferences, comparing Norm to KOK using the criteria in the first paragraph would be like proclaiming DJK was a better athlete than Dan Gable because he could run faster.
